The wheels are 17x8 & 18x9.5 Voxx Misano (discontinued in those sizes). No rubbing anywhere.
I do have C5 Corvette brakes (from Kore3). Great bang for the buck on those.

The wheels are from Yearone, I had the Buick center caps custom fit to each rim - 17x9 rears on 285/40/17 Nitto 555 Extreme's, 17x8 fronts on 245/45/17 Nitto 555 Extreme's . Hotckiss inch lowered springs front and back. QA1 single adjustable shocks front and back. AGR quick ratio steering box. Moog front end (center link, tie rods, etc..) SBC front tubular control arms upper and lower, UMI rear upper and lower tubular control arms. 1 1/4 thick front and rear anti-sway bars, Energy Suspension bushings front and back. Handles like it's on rails!!! West Springfield-20130615-00023.jpg

    Great looking car!
I have a question on the QA1s. I have single adjustable coil overs on the front with single adj. shocks on the back. I am surprised by how stiff they are - like no dampening at all. Where do you have yours adjusted? Stiff and stable is one thing but these are like riding in a buckboard.

    Thanks

Thanks Duke! Mine are pretty stiff as well, I personally like 'em that way. I like to feel every pebble and crevice of the road, LOL. I'll have to check on the adjustment and I'll get back to you.

just lower the stiffness a couple of clicks on the shocks and try it out you be surprised how soft they can get.

Gabe, what sort of brakes are you running? I like the wheels and was curious if they would fit a front C5 setup.

Here's my GS at the 2013 Good Guys Autocross in Columbus. It's not really what I would call a pro touring set up. It's got 255/50/16 comp2's all around, stock small block springs and stock control arms with energy suspension urethane bushings, a 1-5/16 front sway bar off a trans am, southside rear lowers (which are really for drag racing) with a stock rear sway bar, and some kyb gasadjust shocks. The pictures are from the 2011 Run to the Hills autocross in Pigeon Forge, TN

I currently have the stock discs in front and stock drums in rear. I plan on upgrading to the Wildwood discs front and rear at a later date. The only upgrade I've done is installed the HydraBoost braking system with Wildwood Master and a Trans oil cooler. It is AWESOME!!! stops on a flippin' dime!! Before I couldn't stop for nuthin!

I have definitely killed my share of cones Tim. I like seeing those wagons in action. Check out the 64 or 65 chevelle wagon on page 15 of the flicker photos.

Hey Gabe, I saw your car at BPG last weekend. It is a thing of beauty. Have you got any photos or video of that thing in action?

Here's a couple of links to 2000+ photos of mostly pro tour cars. Mine is on page 4 of the flicker photos. Enjoy

Thanks Steve!!! Did we get a chance to meet at the BPG? If not, sorry I missed the chance to see your car up close. Awesome video and pics of your car!!! I don't have any pics or vid yet of it in action, but hopefully soon. I was at this years Goodguys event in Mass but didn't enter in the Autocross..next year!

I am considering buying the very same wheels for my 71 GS but would like to run 17"x9" front and rear. Isn't the back spacing 5.25" on the YearOne Magnum 17"x9" wheel? With that back spacing, would it not fit the front w/o issue?

Back spacing is 5.25" on the 17x9. I'm not sure that they would fit...was worried about "rubbing". I did a lot of research regarding pro-touring 70-72 GS's and also asked alot of my buddies who have all done the same to their cars. Most have gone with 17 or 18x8.5, none have done x9 in the front, as far as I know. I like you really wanted a "wider" tire in the front, but not at the expense of rubbing and ruining either my wheel well and or tires since I also have a 1 inch drop front and back. If you end up going with the 17x9...let me know!

Update: Finally finished installing all the front and rear suspension stuff listed above... Here is a shot to compare the stances. In summary, the above stance is stock with the 17 inch wheels and tires. Below is the new stance with 1 inch drop SPC springs all around and .5 tall ball joints in front which will drop the car .5. Gotta say I love the way the car looks but the front is too low. I only have about 3.5 inches of header clearance and 4 inches of front spoiler clearance. I will order and install some SPC spring spacers to raise it back up a little. I think I will go with the 1 inch.

very nice Eric, love that low stance. I vote you leave it where it's at and get some shorties. It's only money, ey

Eric... your car looks great don't touch a thing. You will be fine. It's not like the car is a daily driver.

Gabe... I love your car more than ever!

Thanks Andy!! Next up before I go to Cecil this year will be the addition of a chin spoiler and some other odds and ends. A must for next year hopefully will be custom headers.....current headers have taken a bad beatin from from riding so low, LOL.
