The car looked pretty complete so they may have the little stuff they need. My guess would be that they have motor mounts or will fab some if they need to. Redieing the rear seat was mentioned and maybe the doors since they said the doors just needed some color. Obviously the car will not be a resto so there is a lot of options for parts when originality is not a concern, like using recovered seats from other cars, malibus, monte carlos and such. I'm just glad they are building a Buick. :TU:

yeah they could fab motor mounts real easy and for seats will you could get something like fbody seats for nothing

Just playing the "advocate" does anyone think that the MuscleCar guys will consult any of us the Buick faithful and the many great Buick engine masters for consultation on how the best spend the dollar and make the Century a bonafide contender,or do you think they will slap a combination that will provide third-class performance for dollars spent? What does the senate have to say on this project. Remember, they called Chip Foose.Just my thought on this project, what's yours...Jay B.Britt,Jr.

Nothing against Foose- the guy has done so much for the car lifestyle, but his tastes just don't line up with mine. Leave the 18" wheels to the ricers and pimps. They're building a Buick here, not a fart-mobile. His tastes in paint however are good :TU:

They need to call up some bonafide Buick engine builders to get the skinny on what they can do to get the most bang-for-their-buck.

Maybe one of our esteemed colleagues on this site can send them an email regarding build suggestions?

The day I started this thread. I also emailed Musclecar and congradulated them on the choice. I also suggested V8Buick, BPG, for information and TA performance for performance parts. If Tommy is a Buick person, I hope he would have found us here and know of TA

The TA pads listed for 70 -72 will work just fine. Before I put the original drivetrain back in, I installed a set of them in my Regal, perfect fit!

Saw them chop the top today.
I have to say I enjoyed seeing them have some ACTUAL trouble.
Most of the time we never get to see anybody have problems with stuff linning up or dropping a nut down between the headers are stuff like that.

Made the show funner to watch for Me.:TU:

I thought they were gonna give up and just make it into roadster. I liked that roadster GOAT they were driving at the end of the show too.

I thought it was pretty cool that the donor car for the roof panel was a Pontiac! I was frustrated that only about 7 minutes of the show was devoted to the project. Sure, the AMC Marlin was a pretty cool bit, and so was the chop top Pontiac at the end, but c'mon!

Good timing for the show as The body shop will be painting my 75 regal in the spring. Everything is stripped off of the car except the dash so I think they will have theirs done before mine.

No they won't. I tried and they will not line up without drilling holes in the frame. Then they will not line up to the mounts on the engine. They set to low and to far apart. Now if you mount the pads to the mounts on the engine and weld.

I installed a 455 in my '76 Century with 70-72 frame brackets and motor mounts. They are pretty much the "universal" setup except in the 64-67 A-Bodies. I had to drill holes where the brackets ended up but after that it just dropped in. Used the same setup in my '78 Regal and '87 TA. If you can't drill some holes then you shouldn't be changing engines.

SO this car is not a 455 car? I thought it had the emblems on the fenders. Now I have to watch it over again. If I could ever figure out my tivo and my dvd burner I'd have me a copy of these shows.

I believe the emblems on the side said 350. Thats when they opened the hood to see it was a chevy.

They will and did, I just installed them in another 73 with out any fitment issue.

All I had to do is measure it out and drill the holes, that's all.

i guess any mounts would work if you want to weld, drill and fabricate,if you want the correct mounts that bolt right where there suppose to they would have to be from a 73-74 century or regal 455.i have them.you can also take the mounts from a electra or lesabre or centurion and cut 3/8 out of them to lower them and they would be correct.
