They replaced the whole roof on the car. I doubt a non stock frame bracket will slow them down or will they lose show points over it.
What happened to the show, whats all this cuda business, didn't they finish that streetfighter cuda awhile ago and these are reruns, or was that a challenger?? I want to see BUICK!
I agree,I want to see the buick too!Must be all those people complaining?! I wish Lou was still on that show,Just dont like the show as much anymore. Show me the buick:3gears:
i would have to say if the 70-72 mounts from ta performance work so good they should put a little note in them, with some slight modification these will work for a 73-77 century 350to 455 swap, but then again i guess i could take 350 chevy mounts and make those work too. ________ HONDA XL1000V
I would suspect with planning, execution and production time and they can't get a new show done every week. They probably do a bunch of work and then split it into a segment or two and then air those.
Wow do they usually take this long to come back to a project? I wonder if they just now figured out that there was going to be pretty much NO sponsor money on this? Summit probably lists about 5 Buick parts in the whole catalog. Year One has about zero 73+ Buick A-body parts. Edelbrock has 2 parts and I just don't see TA getting in on this. Half of these power block shows are glorified commercials for vendors with a bit of tech smeared around to keep you interested. Anyone that knows anything please chime in. regards
Yeah Im patiently waiting... In this weeks show you could see the Buick in the background so we know its still there ou: Im hoping they send a 455 over the the horsepower show for a build. Its too bad that the 1/2 hr shows only has about 7 minutes of content. But still glad their finally doing a Buick
They always overlap projects. If they ever finish that Impala, they'll get back into the Buick. But then they'll start another project to keep the overlap going. What bugs me the most is the 2 minutes of show, then 4 minutes of commercials, repeat. No wonder it takes two seasons to finish anything!
I'm one of the strange people that like the '73-77 mid-size cars. I know they're heavy, hard to get parts for etc. etc. but I love the style. When I was 13 we had a '73 Monte Carlo with a 454, loaded with options. It was a beautiful car. The '68-72 body styles are fine, but they're not my cup of tea. I like the '64 the best, then the '73-77. And I'm also one of the idiots that put a BBC in my original '64 because it's what I had at the time. I've got no regrets, it was fun!
Finally getting back into it this weekend! Machine Shop and Shift Kit May 09, 2010 (Episode: MC2010-08) MuscleCar visits the shop where Project Blue Collar Buick's engine is being machined. Rick shows how to install a shift kit in a Turbo-Hydramatic 350. Tommy assembles the Buick 455.
Ya i was getting worried that they were going to scrape the project but then you still see it in the background. What I think is that the Impala (project red sled) is almost done and probably has much more sponsership than the buick, Then you have Altered E-Go(forget what kind, wanna say a Falcon?), then there was another one I think a trans am?. So you have a pretty big spread and unfortunalty i think the buick just isnt as big of a deal to the uneducated masses. I dunno, just my speculation lol ~Scott
I'm just glad it's back, the Cuda I could have cared less! maybe they will have some track time when the build is done? :beers2:
Well besides the speed-pro slugs every part used is generic. RTV around the intake ports and when if ever have they used an iron manifold on any build? No sense degreeing in a cam with no adjustable sprocket. Standard fuel pump, couldn't spring the extra $10 for a stage one style pump. Wonder if they considered the Chevy pattern housing on the TH350 they just worked on? They are going to fire this thing up on the dyno, make about 280 HP at the crank and even more people will wonder why build a Buick when they could do a crate LS doing 400+....
Very disappointing ou: May be they should continue the Cuda and leave the damn Buick alone leave it to someone that knows what the hell they are doing! :af:
I know it's a "budget" build, but they're treating it as a stock rebuild... I was stunned to see them use the stock intake today. I mean really, an after market intake is a pretty basic addition to any car. Come on guys! o No:
Yeah, I got home from work, sat down to watch it. Curious to see what vendors they choose. Now I'm surprised they didn't just toss in a set of old cast pistons ou: I thought, OK, at least an intake, nope. Didn't even mention the cam, assuming it's either a stock replacement or the one that came out of it They mentioned future work, yeah, we'll see if they go through with it. Big let down so far.
