With a 5000 stall that car would be in the 10's!

I guess we will find out when it cools down outside. I don't enjoy wrenching in this heat.

People have told me that a 4000 stall would shave off 3 tenths. That would get me real close. it went 11.59 with a 7.38 1/8th mile. In good weather it will go low 7.20s now. So, I speculate that is 11.30s. I thought about going larger stall and bigger cam, but I really enjoy driving it around quite a lot. I don't want to diminish the streetability it has now.

I think I will pick up a progressive controller for the nitrous to soften the hit. Maybe that will save the trans and the axles.

That is why it is great you have the lockup torque converter! toggle switch and brake switch and you can have a 4000 stall and 100% whenever you want.... :TU:

A lot of people have been asking me about fuel economy. I finally hooked up the lock up torque converter. It is a nice feature. I have been driving around playing with it at a cruise. It cuts about 300 rpm off at 60 MPH. So, when I go down to Bradenton for my 10 second timeslip, I will measure the mileage. It is about 75 miles.

Awesome!!! So, I was looking at your build and thinking that with the nitrous your converter will flash about 500 RPM higher likely due to the extra torque so you may be right where you want with the nitrous! Many people find they need a tighter converter when using nitrous.

I expect the same thing from my 2800 stall converter, it shoudl stall higher with boost off the line on the trans brake.

Today I installed the bottle, heater, heater relay, blow down tube and pressure control switch.

Even after the install, I still have room in the trunk for a pair of racing slicks, tool box, cooler and the Large Hadron Collider...

Before I finish the nitrous install I wanted to make sure my motor tune was spot on. I was able to pick up just under a tenth and 1 MPH by leaning the jets out 1 and pulling 1 degree of timing. So here are my runs from tonight on the motor in 1000. In good D/A this would be 11.30s @ 119.

:TU::TU: If the track officials have been paying attention, when they see you show up with the nitrous they'll send you home for a roll bar before they let you on the track

Finished up the fuel side brackets, and mocked it all up. Finished up the nitrous side set up brackets and mockup, installed the WOT switch and installed the plate and jets. Now I just have to pull it apart final seal all the fittings and wire it up.

I used an old choke lever for an actuator for the WOT switch. It worked out nice and clean.

Looks great! I look forward to your times! I was just working on a friends S-10 with a 5.3L LS engine, twin turbos and a 100 shot of nitrous.... He is making over 800 HP at the wheels with a stock camshaft and AFR heads as the only mods to the engine.

Yeah, turbo 5.3 is very tempting. Those guys are making crazy power with junkyard motors. There are many 9 second and some 8 second junkyard 5.3s out there. Who would have thought it just a few years ago?

As much as I am a Buick 350 fan because of the durability of them the LS engines are the only other engines I know of that can put up with the massive power levels with a factory short block!

The best part is that a 200,000 mile LS engine is more reliable than a new Buick engine....:Dou:

Here are motor and nitrous timeslips along with a video of me laying down a Cuda. 10.54 @ 128. Not bad for a junkyard motor.
