peak torque at 6450! I beat one of these easily with my 98 Regal SC so I checked into it. Need to shift at 8500 to run!!! The kid had a NOS sticker on the side window but don't think he had any....... 2000 honda s2000 Engine Specs: 2.0Liter dohc (4Cyl) Mileage: 15000 miles Aspiration: normally aspirated[0 psi] Transmission: 6M Max (RW/FW)HP: 202.1 @ 8270 rpms Max (RW/FW)TQ: 134.3 @ 6450 rpms Estimated Fly Wheel Horsepower: 241 @ 8270 rpms [assuming 16 % drivetrain loss] Estimated Fly Wheel Torque: 160 @ 6450 rpms [assuming 16 % drivetrain loss] Room temp / Inlet Temp (F): 0.0 / 86.8 Pressure (kPa): 29.9 Humidity (%): 0.0 Condition Details: Gear Ratio : 77.38 RPM/MPH Correction Factor : 0.99 SAE Fan: off Date and Time: 2003-05-31 - 15:13:26 Dyno Correction Factor SAE Corrected
I don't know... I just never saw the need to own an engine you had to wing the wee out of to get it to run. 8000+ RPM is useless unless you're in the Indy 500.
Those motorcycles turn 10-11K... It just depends on how fast it gets there. I know that was a car... but this thing here is scary: http://www.sportbikes.net/yamahafzr1300.html Heck, my mothers GTI VR6 turns pretty high. They're just different. :Smarty: Frank :beer
I wonder what the rev limiter is set at in that car. The summit has fuel cut at 7200rpm and it'll do 7200rpm but it won't like it.
I bet half the people that have them never rev over 4K........ I've known people with performance cars that think if you rev it or run it hard it will break.....and even if you do run them hard they all have rev limiters. Can't even blow up a rental anymore..... sit at a light in a rental in neutral on the limiter. :Brow: :3gears:
Whenever I would see that car on the road I always thought it had some power. But now your right it has no balls. 200 Hp at 8400RPM thats just a joke. Also everyone I seen always had nos stickers on them
Hahaha... pretty nice for an old-man's bike. If you think that thing is scary, check out the Kawasaki ZX10R! 164hp to the tire and only 375lbs dry!
Guys... how else are you going to make 240hp NA from only 2 liters? The S2000 isn't a drag car... it is a TRACK car!
Seriously, without being your typical stereotyping self, how can you make a small displacement motor that is already rediculously efficient, produce more power without increasing the rpm? Remember, it must be NA.
It's just Internet BS! You can argue all you want... and nothing will ever change. :beer I just take both sides and try to represent them equally! All cars are good at certain things... gotta give them all some lovin'! Its obvious that being on a domestic specific site you will catch a lot of flack for defending the finer points of imports. Always has been this way, always will be!
And amen to you guys for being more brand loyal than anyone in the free world! It verges on sickness... but I guess that is what being a "car guy" is all about! :eek2:
Once again my sir, AMEN. I cannot agree more. If it weren't for american cars I think I would probably have either a bicylcle or motorized scooter p
Plus, this is a buick board, you aren't going to find very many import fans here, brand loyalist or not, this is buick oriented board, so most of it is going to be buick related or if any import subject comes up it is going to be flared at just like this one. You're right on one thing, every car is good at something, so that doesn't mean no one here disbelieves that, it is just the simple fact what we talk about mainly is buick or american related, so imports are not going to be complimented on much here-just some thoughts. :Comp:
