Plus he has a 4 gear, and I drive a slushy 727....so while Tom's shifting a manly 4 speed, I'll be adjusting my bra strap between gently moving the console shift lever. blah blah blah!:beer

Steve, At the time I wanted to just see what it's overall weight was. The car has not yet been "prepared" for duty. If it was, I would be in the seat and the left front gets a lot heavier. Basically when the car leaves the starting line the driveshafts torque drives the left rear tire into the ground and it wants to pick the right rear off the ground (think about twisting the handle of a push broom) The trick is to keep the right rear down and the rear tires equally loaded. This is where the Corvettes have a huge advantage, with independent rear suspension the rear tires are loaded equally. On a Chrysler it is very easy to move weight around in the car. A simple torsion bar adjustment is all it takes. On a Ford and GM shims must be placed in the left front spring seat to add weight to the right rear.(A lot of trial and error)

It has been a lot of fun for me to play around with these scales over the years. I remember the first time I slipped them under one of the cars... WTF how can this side of the back of the car be 150 lbs heavier than this side?

Corvettes can carry different loads on each rear wheel, even with the IRS

they are just very easy to adjust

The Magic 8 Ball predicts some hard-core 12 second passes out of one or more 340 A-bodies. Can't wait !

I'm really diggin your Demon there Tom...

What a great color combo all the way around, and with the 340 4 speed combo, it's over the top!

Very cool car, and one that looks like it's about to open some eyes.

That bad hombre' is pranced for battle !

Even Satin would say that car is bad azz...

This is one car I'm really looking forward to seeing in person. :TU:

I understand that car will have a twin, only with a white stripe package

Well, I don't want to speak out of class but it seems the planets have simply aligned and just by chance there seems to be 5 or 6 1971 340 A bodies that are being built for 2015. I think there is only 2 automatics in the bunch. If they all come together and can make it to the races it should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the compliments guys. This Demon is no show car, a bit rough around the edges really. I'm gonna clean it up a bit but it won't be anything to stroke your crank over. Just a old car

My car has white tape wrapped around the front of the door edge. As much as I dislike the Demon side stripe... I will probably put the stripes back on. I think they get too fat on the quarter.

Twin? Well, I would say more like "brother from another mother"

    Hey Tim,

Working on the 340 Duster hope to have the car at Martin. Bought it without engine and trans so in the process of getting it all
    together.
    Tommy, wish I had scales:(

    Paul

Also after puking the guts out of my ultra flow mufflers the Challenger got a new exhaust went to an X pipe this time around, the previous exhaust was an H so hope to have some real track
data on the H vs X exhaust. The stainless ultra flow mufflers that puked looked like brand new outside inside there was nothing just a hollow case they totally rusted away from the inside out. Will get them cut apart and post some pics later........

Saw this car in person, it's Bad Azz! The black over orange combo is striking, and something only Ma Mopar could pull off. Going to be a neat year with all these small blocks!

    Now that is ME !!!!
I was looking at a sassy grass car a couple years ago. Always knew a duster platform with the thermal Quad would be a monster.:3gears:

I'm with you Tom , I think I like the duster stripe better than the double Demon strip.. BUT THE BLACK WITH ORANGE IS STRIKING :)

Not the same car but...Yes, you have seen it before. A fella in Florida owns the automatic version of this car. Years back Dave Dudek did the resto on it and there was a ongoing thread on the FAST website. Iggy's Automatic car is a "over the top" restoration. Dave delivered the car to Iggy at the 2007? Mopar Nationals. It went down the dragstrip a few times and burned up the trans. Somewhere there is pictures of a bunch of us going through the torqueflite on top of a 55 gallon drum in the pits. That is back when we were cool.

Tim, I know where there is a duplicate sassygrass car for sale if you want to throw your hat in the ring. http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/cto/4865964105.html

Also, It looks like the cats are flying out of the bag now. There "might" be a Blue Automatic Duster, the opposite Demon and a 70 340 Swinger coming out as well
