Ok heres the story , I just got the 68 from the trailor yesterday and I thought I would take a few parts from it and get them ready to sell!!!! Well little did I know what was about to jump out on my arm!!!! Here he is after I had a heart attack!!!!!!!!!
Then we took the fender off the rest of the way and out he came!!! SO my neighbor brought over his 22 with the birdshot in it and now we have a trophy!!!
Oh yea they have done the damage too!!! Nothing like a snake to wake me up!!! WOW just working away and it drooped down across my arm inside the fender well ..............eeewwewew (shudder) ..........
I didn't realize that a snake was an option in 68, does he have the correct VIN stamped on him to make him numbers matching?
Wow ..you told me you found a big old snakeskin in there. Now I see you found the rest of him. hehe. Poor lil snakey.
Reminds me of last week. I was dismantling a 66 Riv. parts car that had been sitting for years. Immediately saw a large black snake in the trunk. It climbed into the quarter and I couldn't reach it. Later that day when I was cutting the pass. bolts from the rear bumper off, a water snake fell out on the ground. I grabbed a hammer and killed it. 10 mins later when cutting the other side loose, one fell out on my feet!!! This one looked similar to a copperhead, but turns out to be another water snake. The next day I removed the tail lights. When I removed the pass one, I felt something moving under my fingers. I pulled the light off and 3 damn snakes fell out on me!!! Another water snake and 2 different species. One had yellow stripes on its back. I couldn't kill those because my heart was failing, so I yelled for backup. My dad and friend killed those 3 while I got back in shape. Needless to say, after that, several future needed parts got left on that Riv!! I hope the shredder kills the other 25 inside! I know that big black one is still in there.
Shame on you for killing the snake just because he scared you. I don't kill them myself . I feel they have a right to be alive to. I have taught my 2 stepsons not to kill them either. Now when they find one they no how to catch it and we just relocate them to the woods. Maybe i'm nuts i don't know .
Yuk! MG, you have the most interesting luck! I have never seen any snakes in my parting out of many cars, just dead mice and nests, which are pretty yukky! As well as, other interesting things that people leave in their cars when they desert them in their yards, etc.
Well out here in the county we dont worry about how many snakes you kill. There are so many they over run some homes and back yards. And when there are small kids and pets around you give the snake the beat down..... I chopped one up with the lawn mower a few weeks ago, just mowing around the yard and went by the house up close and it just shot out in peices all over the yard. was about 3 feet that one.
You just cant take a snake lightly It could bite you and what could I do since I was the only driver at home. I could be injured and no way to get help. So the snake gets to loose today.
Well, I couldnt resist. Since this is looking like a country hick story line, I thought I would throw mine in. A friend of mine was pulling me( I was in a old Buick) back to the house for parting, and out from under the front seat jumped a big pack rat, up to sit beside me on the front seat, just like he belonged there. I always wear leather gloves when I move one of these old cars, so I batted him against the pass door, and then while he was stunned, I reached over and opened the door and booted him out. Hopefully that will only happen once. I did see him get up when he hit the ground and run off. So for all you animal lovers out there, no animals were hurt during this outing. Other than maybe a headache. Pete
I'm glad we don't get much of those up here in "the great white north" lol. I'm not afraid to admit it...they scare the crap putta me! They got no legs or arms or anything but they can move. Thats defying nature to me:laugh: If it jumped out on my arm I woulda had a heart attackou: I'm not so bad if I see them in a cage or as a pet or something...then I can expect to see them and it doesnt bother me..but when they pop outta nowhere I'm a wuss! lol
