Thanks John:TU: :TU: I've heard of the GS with the Suncoupe roof but had no idea they were so rare.

Yes they are rare and in case you missed this the Suncoupe option was more than the Stage 1 option on the window sticker ( I have the original:Brow: )
BlastCo just relieved me of 1250.00 for the media blast and etch prime
Powder coated frame pics coming tomorrow 420.00 for the frame and 4 front control arms

theres a green over white/black int with a white top suncoupe that shows up at the all buick car show here in tucson every november. the car is around 25 minutes from tucson and was for sale the last time i saw it. it looks almost identical to the one in that mag article only it has a regular skylark hood and a 350. nice car, very nice actually. just though id let everyone know that.

good luck with the resto, going to be a very nice car when finished!

I have been at the powdercoater lately. These are whats done , frame, rear housing , front and rear control arms and sway bars , The engine is dissassembled and shows very little if any wear . The rear will be assembled this week . The springs are here . The fuel and brake lines are on order . Still trying to work out a body shop for the paint and body work . I still have yet to buy the wiring harnesses and interior for the car . I will be sending my bumpers out soon also to tri city plating . I will get some pictures as son as I get the frame onto the stands and start assembly

Sorry I need to get my camera charged and upload some more pics. The car is painted! Strato Mist blue (sorry to all you purists) and its beautiful. Done by Frisco Hill auto body here in STL. we had some minor rust issues to fix and a lot of sanding before paint. Anyhow its home and I am working on the A/C boxes so I can install the engine and then the fenders and hood . The engine/trans/rear are done. Now its looking like 2010 to finish it. Need to save some more $$ for chrome, interior, top, wheels and tires (repop goodyears and 15x7's)
I have not even thought about how much I have spent on this car.

Sounds like it's coming along pretty good. Stratomist Blue is my favorite, and mine may end up that color as well. My last GS was that color with a black top and boy did it pop in the sun. Can't wait to see some pics. Here's my old car for inspiration:

Last I heard 72BuickGS on this board had the car, and had an aluminum head motor in it. I see he's not been on the board since May 2007 so i don't know if he's still got the car or not. :Do No:

I knew this car when it was in Va in the early 90's
Can't remember the cat's name that owned it though.

I saw a guy at a Buick dealer in IL just across the river from St. Louis with a 72 just like that, with a 600hp monster in it. Might it be the one? I believe it was the dealer's son who owned it.

If you're talking about staged70's Sun Coupe, yes I believe he said earlier in the thread it came from VA.

If you're talking about my old car, no it was a TX car all it's life until it went north about 7-8 years ago.

It's definitely possible. The guy who owns/owned it lived in Belleville, IL the last time I had contact with him.
