 Yes indeed, Dan and Bob; a superb show! Many, many thanks. Your "weather order" was finally filled accurately this year! Congratulations and thanks again from everyone in Studebaker-land. BP
Bob and I thank you for your kind words! (I'm still recovering from the weekend, and I'm sure it's the same for Bob.) While we try to put on the best race we can, it wouldn't amount to much without you guys. So to turn the tables on you, THANK YOU ALL for coming to MMM this year! Thank you for your wonderful support last year! Without you, there would be no race! Dan
Dan,you and Bob plus the staff at the track put on a Great event. It was a pleasure to participate in such a well run, organized shootout. Hats off to you:beer
I said it in another post but it deserves to be said again in this one. Thank you Bob and Dan , this race is somthing that I love and look forward to every year. This years race meant evern more to me. Food -fun- friends :TU: And SMOKE and Rubber ain't so bad either.:3gears:
Include me in on this too. Many thanks Dan and Bob :TU: This is the ONE event that I look forward to year after year, and all I do is come to spectate and bs with everybody. I've got my reservations for next years rooms already. Sure hope I made them for the right weekend.
Dave, that depends on whether or not he owes you money! No, seriously no relation that i know of. Missed you at the show. 1972 Buick GS 13.05@106
No, he doesn't owe me $$$, but he bought a brand new Rallye 350 in 1970, still has it with about 17k miles on it......but it runs mid 10's, (all motor). How's that for a small block. This is about the only Rallye 350 that I like...(but don't tell him...) Good guy, just on the opposite end of the political battles from me.....   We don't go there anymore....best plan.
Luke, It was great to see all of you guys, and I'm glad you got the car moving better.Congrats on the lower ET and the new MPH high. Your enthusiam is infectious, and it's guys like you and your group that make the PSD a great event. Rich
said it in the other thread, but I'll repeat it here Thanks Bob and Dan!!!!! What a great time!!!! For all the work I put in this summer, the cuts, strained muscles, aches, pains and my knee that works the man pedal which I'll have to see a doctor about eventually it all came together Sat as the last 5 runs showed what the GT-37 with the mystery motor can do (funny my knee wasn't bothering me at all Sat o No: ). It's amazing what happens when you don't have a cracked balancer, oil soaked clutch, blown saf-t-trac and all the other misc things I uncovered over the last 6-10 months. There's still more in the car, but with running someone else's idea of a rebuild I don't think there's that much more (motor still has weak valve springs too). I just need to tune what I've got, work on launching the car and most importantly rebuild the way overdue front end and replace that cobbled up crappy exhaust system. A somewhat funny thing, my shootout 2 years ago was against a yellow 69 Z/28 4sp car. I lost the first round as I found out he had some et and mph on me, but I won the next two. This year I drew a yellow 67 396 4sp Camaro. Again I lost the first round as he ran me down on the big end and I found out he had et and mph on me. Round two I pulled out my best run overall to date along with a great light and I didn't get caught. The third round was a bye as the guy loaded up and left for some reason. He didn't say anything to me, so I'm not sure but I still made a full pass anyway.
And yet another round of applause for Dan, Bob and all those who worked their tails off all weekend to ensure a smooth, stress free racing weekend for us. You should all take a bow...hats off to all the PSMCDR crew. How about that parking lot party friday night?? It only gets better!! Catfish...Gumbo....jumbo shrimp cocktail...walleye and more! Thanks to all that went out of their way to display their cullinary expertise. I love hanging out with each and every one of you....even at 3am. This party is way over the top!! Wouldn't dare miss this event
Forgot to mention..... I drew John Glasgo and his outstanding Orbit Judge. A true gentleman and sportsman. I won the first round......we threw out the middle run ( He bulbed and I missed a gear) and he got me by .01 in the last run. I get so lucky at all these events to run against good friends too. Trans Am is officially retired. Might try an older car next.
More thanks to Bob & Dan, I know it takes a lot of work to pull off this event year after year. You guys do a heck of a job!
Not only do I want to join the bandwagon on thanking Bob and Dan for producing the best show in the USA, but I feel fortunate for being involved for so many years - the tower has been my home since 1997! :eek2: Every year, I get the heebie jeebies as I am mic-shy (not to mention camera-shy - is there a connection?) but it always works out in the end. :TU: And I'd like to give a big thanks to Rich Corsello for the heaping plate of pancakes. :beers2: Ditto to Beloit, Bruno, Ed, Donny, and probably some more people (oh, Rusty for the :beers2:!) for making my Nintendo Wii Fit tell me I overdid it for 4 days in Michigan. I got Ed to try some chimichurri (glad you could make it after practicing in FAST races!:Brow, and I know Bruno got psyched about it too. Did Donny try the batch yet? Either way, I will have to post the recipe when I can get my mom to email it.:Comp: To those whom I didn't get to say hello, there's always next year - cheers!:birthday:
Glad to do it Diego, and really glad that we had the chance to catch up. I was also glad to put a few faces to names, and in some instances to solidify them, like (rdl- Rob) and (Steve Hodges-hodgesgi). I've got to apologise to the Mahers for the brain fart on their last name. That whole clan is tops in my book, and congrats on the personal bests! You'd think that two days is enough time to race ,wrench, socialize, etc. ,but in reality it just whizzes by.... I wish we all had more time to just hang out. Rich C.
What a kick-ass weekend! A special thanks to Benoit (and others) for the excellent (and free) food! It was great to link up with old friends and make a few new ones. Now next year I can say to Chris Jones (with the yellow SCJ Torino) - Cut your hair, hippie! See you all next year - WITH A CAR! Thanks again to all!
Add me to the list of THANK YOUs. It was odd not having to shoe a car on Saturday, and a bit surreal to see fellow Stanton regulars like Pete, Dave H, Casey, Stefina, etc., wandering around MMM also without rides! But, the extra free time to visit with folks was simply a step back that reminded me why we make the 1500 mile round trip every year...:beers2:
