Thank You Woodsters, Wednesday afternoon we started with the wet sanding of the Queen Mary III, the upper part of the passenger side was done, carefully not to mess up the lines. :bglasses:
Here are a few shots of the Queen Mary III as paul started with the meticulous art of wet sanding 19 & 1/2 feet of the land yacht :beer
How Many hours you got into it now? What is this spot on the fender? Hopefully an optical allusion! Looks great!!! http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=137274&d=1239998384
Looks great Louie. Almost to the finishing touches.:TU: You do any of the grunt work or is poor Paul's arms ready to fall off?
Bill, Paul has been doing all the work, he sand one day and take off on his motorcycle the next, to prevent his arms from falling off completely :beers2:
Neil, yes that is an optical illusion that is covered by the stainless chrome that runs the length of the fender. Paul has like 150 hours into the car, started in late January after he came back from Barrett Jackson :TU:
Sarge, they were back there today, like 15 or more, I had the attack dog hiding in a fox hole waiting to pounce on them if they got too close.
OK, early this morning the Queen Mary III got three coats of clear, she will now cure for a day or two before the sanding marathon starts
Today after a visit with the Physical Terrorist, I took the GSx out to see the Queen Mary III, Paul was buffing out the Wildcat and was starting to look good.
LOUIE how are your stripes on the 71 painted are they cleared or gloss black. my car is getting it's stripes this week. todd
Todd, That is the same 71 GSX that was in your shop like 5 or 6 years ago, the stripes are vinyl and no clear coat over them, but been thinking of touching the car up and clear coating them. :beers2:
Do I even wanna bother to ask what the bill is thus far?? wow Looks amazing Louie!! I'll get my '64 just as good soon as I rob a bank!! wait.. the banks don't have any money anymore, do they??? hmm Well anyway, I raise my glass to this Queen Mary! Thanks for the many updates. The saga has been great to follow here!! Would you care to reveal what these chrome guys cost for doing all those parts? I might consider a trip to Syracuse one day if their price is worth it.. ...if I don't end up moving to Los Angeles and taking the Wildcat with me.
Can't wait til ya get all the purty(aka her Jewels) stuff on her... she's lookin quite Grand as it is!
