'78 Buick Limited. That car had EVERY option available in '78. AND a pretty decent-sized back seat.:Brow: Paid $3500 for it in 1985 and took out a note for $3000. Paid $175 a month for 18 months. Was making $6.00 an hour. Sold it the month the note was paid off for $3000 so I could buy my '70 Skylark Convertible for $2200. A year later I had installed a 455 Stage1, 4-speed trans, and 12-bolt rear and was drag racing the convertible every weekend. That led to building the '65 and the billion or so dollars I have tied up in it. Oh, the humanity! :ball:  :beer

That would be the 72 GS I still own. I just turned 16 and it was my first car. I bought it in 1987. I had a payment of $100/month and my insurance was $82/month. I was working part-time making $3.35/hour.

First car I made payments on was my stage 1 convertible I use as my avatar. I sold my 455 1973 regal for $2000 and I owed my brother $500 for painting it. The stage 1 came up for sale and I was 800 short. I was devastated. My dad said, "well, lets go look at it anyway". There were two guys trying to buy it already at 8 in the morning after the paper came out but they only had $2200 on them. I had $1500 and knew it was not going to cut it. Before I knew it my dad asked if he would take $2300 in cash. Next thing I know I am at the gas station filling a platinum mist stage 1 convertible up with premium on my way home.

I made 8 $100 payments to my dad over the next year to pay it off. I was a senior in high school when I bought it in 1985.

    Thanks, dad.

First car I made payments on was a 1964 Chev Biscayne 4 door. 283-2v 3spd column shift. Was actually a nice car, solid body with little rust and one of the biggest trunks I'v ever seen.

First car was a 1973 MGB-GT. It turned out to be a real rust bucket and physically broke in two when it was accidently driven through a hole in the road by my mother. Luckily, she was not hurt.

First car I made payments on (and first I car I ever owned) is my 71 Stage 1 bought in 1986. I was 17, got a loan for 450.00 at 26.25% interest, took me six months to pay it off, working at gas station making 7.00hour. Still have the paperwork.

My first car was a 1977 Olds Cutlass with a 260 motor.I was so thrilled cost me 900 bucks .I test drove it twice.I figured the 260 would get decent gas mileage and thought I could live with the lack of power. On the way home from doing the title transfer, the cam wiped out totally and I immediately had to work on the motor.I got sick of no power and it was such a dog that I bought a 400SBC and TH400 and then installed it.After that it really ripped but,I was so broke from paying for gas I couldn't hardly go anywhere. This was in 1986 and I had a $4.25 an hour job.

1984 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 ragtop. I had that car nine years. I just returned to the states from a stint in Honduras in spring of 1989, and I was vacationing in Houston when I decided I could pay on a cool car. I was looking a Monte Carlo SSs, but the Mustangs were cheaper and faster. GNs were unaffordable as always:mad:
