    Must say 1966

Of course all Cats are nice, but 2 years, 1965 and 1966, have got just that little more. We have a 1966 now but someday I will buy a 1965 as well, Werner

    1970 Widlcat

Had a 1970 Wildcat back in the 1980's, and let in go to the crusher after driving it about 6 years, then sat for a parts car for about 10 more. I miss it badly, now that I'm older and wiser, wouldn't mind picking up another, got to keep my eyes open, probably have to pay more then 500 bucks also.

That 67 Wildcat looks partcularly sweet, BTW.

By far better looking than my 70'Wildcat. I would give up my Wildcat for a sweet Light Blue one.

Nice Wildcat! It looks good with LeSabre Custom chrome mouldings instead of the fender skirts. I wanted to do the same with mine but all the 68 LeSabres I found in junkyards were base models...

THANKS. I wasn't a fan of the skirts either, but I saved everything incase I ever want to sell it...
    ya right.

BTW I got my trim from Wheatbelt Auto. I believe its in Kansas?

To each his own....I happen to think the fender skirts make the car! :TU: Something unique that was only on Wildcats in '67 and '68. Thought I'd add a photo of the newest member of the family. Her name is "Beulah" and she is a 29,000 original mile car from Montana. This car is the virtual twin to "Bessie" the '68 Wildcat 4 door sedan that my parents bought new and gave to me as my 1st car when I turned 16!! Talk about memories!! This car is all original-paint, upholstery, top-spare never down.

BTW, Thanks Rob- I like your Wildcat, too! I thought that you probably did away with the skirts because you race the car-at least, that how it looks in your avatar!! What's the best time you've run in your 'Cat?

Rob, I never though of using the LeSabre trim instead of the skirts (which I'm not using either due to tire/wheel width). I'll have to see if I can round up some '67 trim for mine as well!!!

Gorgeous '68 you have there, btw.

Being such a fan of the 40's and early 50's Buicks, I must admit I am partial to the sweepspear styling of the 67 and 68s.

The dash board on the 64s are the best in my opinion.

I have a 66 Electra and the dashboard seems like SUCH a let down compared to the 64s.

Interiors in all cars of the mid to late 60's were just so plain compared to examples in cars 5 or 10 years older.

Thanks for the compliments. It's all stock motor except for the HEI and just a shift kit stuck in the tranny so not really a racer. Best time was a 15:21 if I remember correctly. But I do enjoy a long burn out for the crowd on my first run of the day...as they don't know how slow it is at that point. After that I just quietly pull up to the line and go.

It always gets second gear rubber though. Which is ALWAYS fun!

Devon, I actually have to release the rear shocks and lower the axle just to get the rear tires in there. Not exactly an easy fit, but I like the look.

I have a similar problem. I've had good luck by getting the rear of the car high up in the air, jackstanding the frame so the rear drops fully. To get wiggle room on one side I jack the opposite side of the axle a bit. Haven't had to unbolt anything so far!

Guess I'm partial to the '68s Dave - seem to be stuck in a time warp !
The fender skirts made the 2dr hdtps look long, low, 'n mean along with that sloping back. Just gazing at some of the nice machines pictured in this post brings back fond memories - and some 20/20 hind sight - shoulda never sold them ! :Dou: :beer

  19. Wildcat GS

    Hi Guys..
The black `66 GS Wcat on Ebay appeared to me to be a bogus car...just too many things which were not "right".I seem to recall placement of the GS emblems? For you guys interested in worthless trivia the red custom interior was only available on the convert in `66.
Phil is right on in regard to the wood wheel.Only "correct" on the `66 models...and the tri-shield cap is OEM.
Man! Those damn Wcat coupes look goood in black, dont they?

PS Anybody have a black/black `66 dual quad GS coupe for sale? :ball:

:beer I'm picking my 65 up from the body shop Saturday (finally!). Coming home for installation of a slightly built 425 Super Wildcat and 5-speed.

Its getting a custom red interior-also not available in the coupe, only the convertible. Guess this one will be in the modified division!
