looking great Bill, i love the NOS quarter extension chrome pieces. The ones on mine are really ugly, Do you have any more of those in the cats lair?? Keep up the good work; it is fun to watch all the shiny bits come together to make another cool cat come back to life.
Tom......i know you said you needed them chrome trunklip extensions.I have a spare pair of NOS that i had on another car for a while.....they were gonna be my spares but let me think about that. I will pm you tonight.Got your letter and i am boxing the steering wheel today. Thanks for the good words on the 'Cat :TU: Peace WildBill
Looking good!!! Any suggestions for taking out and re-installing the steering column? I'll be taking mine out over the weekend to have it tightened up and painted..
I normally do not care for white cars at all. But Bill, I gotta tell ya, this car just looks "RIGHT"!!!! It looks Fantastic:Smarty: I want it:TU: :3gears:
Thanks Tom......this is my other "Dream Wildcat"..........if you are gonna do white...do it right :TU: Cleaned the factory tinted rear quarter glass and installed them....... Here's EXTREME BUFFING for you :Brow: I'm blind in one eye(and can't see out the other).......had to buff all the 44 year old oxidation off the exposed stainless on this pair of 4 1/2 ft long NOS door mouldings.......one slip and you buff the paint out of the stripes:eek2: No slips so they look great More soon......the process is accelerating. Peace WildBill
A-pillars and door glass are in.......very tricky when you mix and match parts from different cars and change original locations of things like the upper window seal channel......but that's why Buick designed them to be so easily adjusted for.......think like a Buick assembly person in 1966 :Smarty: The trim is all mounted except for the passenger side door........i need a NOS one if anyone has one....trade my NOS DS one for it or MUCHO $$$ for the right part.......... WILDCAT Nationals 2010 ! Peace WildBill
Thanks Ted :beer Those decals recognize the 3:90 posi that is in the car......been there for 25+ years p Painted the tank and installed it this week...... Also, this week i installed the rear seat "package shelf"...... GRAND children are here for the week...Jadyn is 4...Dylan(as in Bob)...10 months....i will spend ALL my time with them this week .........more progress next week Peace WildBill
Tom.....i wanna see pictures of your Wildcat if you can't make it to the Wildcat Nationals........ Post them up here in this thread :TU: Peace WildBill hard to believe this thread has been going on for this many years ou: :Brow:
Hey Topcat, looks like youve been making some good progress lately. I cant wait to see the motor between them frame rails. And make sure you video the first key turn of that Cat and post it here! Ive been wondering if shes going to roar or purr or BOTH!:Brow: She looks amazing.
Bill, Unfortunately i am not going to make it to the nationals, my wife graduates from her masters program that weekend. She has been working towards that longer than this thread has been going on. I subtly mentioned that the wildcat nats were the same weekend as her graduationray: and got a smoldering look in response:af: so i guess I am going to have to skip it again. I will get some pictures of my cat tomorrow, i just got back from the first ride of the year, a short ten mile blast around town and it is back in the garage. I can't get over how much nicer it is to ride in with an interior in it, i guess it just feels done now. Although i am sure it will never actually be done in fact i was thinking about how bad i need a stereo in it now... it never ends
From Diamond Back Classic...235/70/15 front; 275/60/15 rear :TU: Damn time keeps slipping away. Too much wine, women and song done a little good boy wrong...
Ted.....don't leave me alone with that black car. You'll never see either of us again. There...you've been warned. I cannot be held responsible for my actions from hence forward.
Beer, not wine is good food, well, maybe some wine, as long as it's not, WHINE!!!! We know what you have been doing and it's not little good boy stuff, get to work on that Cat, or we will come and get it and you won't get it back!!!! LOL!!!!!
Bill , i got some pictures today while the sun was shining. The old girl is a lot prettier than when i bought it.
Thanks Rick. It looks better in pictures than in person. I painted it myself and there are a few "anomalies" in the surfaceou: I found an old picture i took just after i towed it home and put it all back together to see what i was missing. As Bill was saying it is amazing how long it takes to do one of these cars :3gears:
