When I was looking for one for my 73 several years ago, they were unobtanium.

So todays project was to make the Master Cylinder look better, tried the Evaporust but it leaves it looking chalky where the factory paint was gone so I wound up painting it Cast Iron, I’ll age it with some dirt and grease later….

Really thought the evaporust would do the trick. Sorry about that, Brent.

Oh it does remove rust extremely well, it’s just that I kept rinsing and scrubbing it to try and get the chalky residue off but I just wasn’t happy with how it looked, so Anyway it’s still a great product, I’m using it on bolts heads and some suspension parts and it does great on them. I think the key is don’t allow it to dry before rinsing it off.

Today I decided to try the Evaporust on the hood latch and some body bolts, I think it does a pretty good job, and it doesn’t hurt the paint work.

Are you wiping it off while wet or rinsing it off with water while wet?

I let it set on there for about 10 minutes then I use a paper towel to remove it then rinse it off and wipe with rags and water. I found that if you let it dry it leaves the metal chalky, so I don’t let it dry.

Brent I love it, if you give me some dimensions of the MC decal, I can try to have it reproduced. I need one myself. I will give you one for supplying me with the size.

The master cylinder decal is 3/4 square looks like. Here’s a close up.

Hey guys, have any of you looked into a product called Rust Prevention Magic? It is different from anything that I have seen, the guy that came up with was "RIP" BIG in the Mopar world and used it on everything.
Just thought it might you might like to know about it.

Well I have de-rusted and de-greased about everything I can in the engine compartment, without sacrificing it’s originality. Next week I’ll start the bottom side.

Great progress! Hopefully this is the NEW trend with these cars- not restored, but "restified"... Looking forward to more progress updates and pics!
