That is a beautiful 68. Love to see cars like this go to the right home. What colors was the Judge? I like all the different colors available for the 70's.
I found the build sheet under bottom of rear seat and its in great cond. the code on sheet says 00 * and engine code PA . I'm not sure how to dissect codes
Sorry for the thread hack but... Wow I bet that looked great. White is an excellent color on that car. OK back to Buick's :3gears:
Dave, maybe Duane will chime in if not pm him or start a new thread on the Bench, I am sure you will get many answers also post a picture of it.
Dave, First I want to congratulate you on your purchase. It sounds like a neat car and I was sorry I missed seeing it while it was in my area. It will be interesting to see the sheet, I have not seen many 68 Build sheets. The info on it will depend on where it was built. With those codes you listed I figure it is one of those large GMAD sheets from a plant other then Flint. Those sheets are basically a blueprint that lists all the parts on the car. The UPC codes are easy enough to decode, but the 100+ spaces at the top can get interesting, especially because the various plants used different methods to code parts/options. It's usually easy to verify everything on the car once its decoded, of course those sheets take a while to decifer. Duane
Congratulations on your new purchase, this car is a huge score with that color combo, low miles, big block 4spd. Are you getting any sleep with having your new toy at home:TU: Very beautiful car Dave! Chris
How can you tell us you just found the build sheet and not tell us "where" you found it???? That's half the fun! ---------- Post added at 10:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 AM ---------- Thanks!!
To follow up on your discoveries of build sheets...let me and my son add this. We did a body on rest, a few years ago, to a 50+K mile 68 GS400, ...which was built in Wilmington DE, also. He found two build sheets. One was in the A-pillar...note the "A" written on that sheet...see attachment. And the second sheet was found under the back seat...marked "bucket"... see attachment. Seats were removed when we put in new correct carpet. Though that was very neat. Tony & Mark Saggese
Yeah Tony - spill the beans on the rim/backspacing/tiresize combo !! The car came out fan-freakin'-tastic :TU:
