Nice 74. More like big brother. I bought a ranch green 74 stage 1 when I was 19 back in 93. The ad was in the Denver post, I thought the guy had no idea what he was talking about. At that time I was under the impression that the stage 1 was discontinued in 74. I was never happier to be wrong. It was running, not much rust, 89k miles, I was hooked. Completed the restoration in 98.

Who ever heard of a Buick, let alone a 50 year old one that didn’t leak anything? Not a drop, wow. I washed the floor and it’s bone dry when I parked it, still is. I should probably give it a few days, there’s just no way a Buick don’t leak 8B827511-661E-43AE-AF0A-4EF63171BFC8.jpeg

I found a 1973 Michigan Inspection sticker online, wondering Yes or No? I kinda dig it but it’s hard to be subjective. AED2E626-D3B0-4B89-9382-CDF236574307.jpeg 54616EEA-7CDD-4AFC-90FC-B598659BF744.jpeg

Today is polish the wheels and wheel house chrome trim. I discovered that at some point the car had rear splash guards, you can see the line and explains the extra screws…..now I have to find replacements, lol.

You guys may wonder how I have so much time on my hands, we’ll when I work it’s for several months away from home at a time, then when I get home I’m here for a month or two and have nothing but time on my hands and I play with my cars. When I’m gone I have all these pictures and posts to look thru thinking about what I should do next.

] I drove the car 2 days ago for 25 miles, and still not a drop of any fluids on the garage floor. I can’t believe a Buick BB that’s 50 years old and 49,000 miles doesn’t mark its territory, it’s supernatural I tell you. That fact and it’s amazing Survivor condition leads me to worry that this may be the GM version of Christine. 9BD250DE-08D7-466A-8A4C-8816141AA2CB.jpeg

 Better be REAL nice to her, and keep her shined up! You don't smoke cigars, do you? The first victim got crushed when he dropped his cigar on the seat.

I empathize with the elation you feel towards this car. I appreciate the survivor standard that your 73 reflects.

One thing that I hate about getting older and working on cars, I more often than not screw something up when fixing something else and then I have to fix that……..When I was fixing the clock I scratched the heck out of the lens trying to bend the tabs that hold it in place. So today was fix the lens day, it took about 2 hours of sanding with 2000 grit then polishing but success in the end.
