  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy..   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. 4-Speed Hurst Shifter

    If it's been in there since new, they put up a fight. Plan on getting new clips and isolators from shifter doc. If the shifter is original, I would blow it apart and install a hurst master rebuild kit. Total parts will be around $165 plus shipping

    I just finished taking this one apart which I will be listing shortly, tool me a couple hours to disassemble and clean the shifter and 2 hours to get the fricken handle out. Used a feeler gauge and was such a pain. The isolation rubber gets hard making the clip hard to push in.

    Putting the reverse detent spring back in, is a piece cake...

    Go to youtube and search "Eric crash Davidson" I posted two video's taking apart, and re-assembling an OEM 1970 Z-28 Hurst shifter...
    Also in the video's you will see the holding fixture, and tools I make to make the hole process go smoothly...

    I hwve a petented method. I just use a snap on pry bar and a small screwdriver. It's nearly effortless and requires no special fixtures or holding tools
