64 Skylark......."ALPHA LARK"

I'm not sure how often I'll post, but I thought I'd start a thread with my build. The "real build" commences this winter, but I did have a little time this summer and fall to at least "get started" on the project. My goal is simple............an 8 second street car on pump gas. Sounds kind of "crazy", but with the new block and boost it's become fairly simple.
    1964 Skylark
    535 Tomahawk with Procharger
TH400 W/ Reid case and all good internals
9" Ford with Moser internals, Wavetrac 35 spline
    Mini tubs w/pinched frame
    Coil overs all around
    Wilwood discs all around
    Rack & Pinion manual steering
    10 point cage

So far I've collected a lot of parts, but the only thing I've really accomplished is getting the rear end finished up and installed. Some pics of the progress, more to follow at some point.............. 20171020_174035 res.jpg 20171021_115753 res.jpg ] 20171020_174110 res.jpg 20171021_112537 res.jpg 20171021_112543 res.jpg [/ATTACH]

Show us some pics of the car! The underside looks nice and solid, and clean.

The car is quite solid, although covered in dents and holes to weld shut. It came from Georgia.

    Thanks guys.
Color.......not sure yet. Going back and forth on a few.
Not black though.........I LOVE black, but don't love keeping it up. My Shelby was black......sold that this spring and bought a black Camaro SS. Enough black for me for a long while! LOL

I'll post more when I have progress. Right now it's still minimal build time available.

That looks amazing Steve. Can you post any pictures of the frame narrowing /wheel tub modifications you did? Thanks.

    Dan,
I traded my 65 post car for this 64 hardtop. One of the reasons I traded was because the frame was already narrowed and the wheel tubs widened. Saved me a lot of time and grief. I did weld some extra reinforcements to the frame but it was minor. I'll post some pics of what was done when I can.
    Thanks

Steve...I know you're gonna meet your goals...if the car you're building now is as half as bada$$ as the GSX...We all may have to bow down.
I'd like to see a custom set of Rallye wheels on it. Front and rear (rear with Beadlocks...!!!) Mr.Jay B.Britt,Jr.

As for color...the Teal Green that was Lawrence Conley's TWEAKED, is a nice color. Mr.Jay B.Britt,Jr.

Steve, you're going over the top again. We talked about this before- street cruiser, flat black, fun to drive street car, no fancy paint. I thought I'd better chime in before you got too far!

Tried the hood, just to get a feel for how it'll look. I like it!!
Taking it to the frame shop this weekend. Need to have the front end tweeked and corrected. It must have gotten a slight hit during it's 53 years of existence. Easy fix, just something I can't do in my shop. Then I'll start the front end work, followed by the cage installation.
    All in due time!! LOL
