    VIN# 446379113****
Born a GS 400, and Canadian built.

I need to thin the herd some, and it's with deep regret I'm selling my 69 Buick GS 400. I bought this car from the original owner on January 22 1987. He bought it new, sold it to his son, and then the son sold it back to him, and then I bought it. It had 41,114 miles when I bought it from him in 87, and it has 57k on it now. It has never been in the rain or snow since I've owned it. He did one repaint on the car, and re-chromed the bumpers about a year before I bought it. It was originally Antique Gold and was repainted GS Fireglow by him. They did a nice job on the jambs and stuff too. The paint is showing some age but still looks good, and turns allot of heads, bumpers still look very nice too. I did replace the Grille Surround with an NOS one a long time ago. The hood and tops of the front fenders were checking a little, and I had them painted 2 summer's ago. The LR 1/4 has a small dent that I did last fall trying to squeeze it into my garage. The interior is 100% original, except the center portion of the drivers bucket seat and the door arm rest pads. Options that I installed include, tilt, sport wheel, power brakes and AM FM Mono. The AC blows cold and still has R12 in it. Heater core is bypassed, it sprung a leak over 12 years ago. I have a new one, just never put it in. Wipers quit a long time ago too and I never fixed them.

All of the sheet metal is original to the car. The Core support, trunk and inner fenders are all original and rock solid. It has one little rust bubble behind the lr tire and another on the lower rf door. They are VERY small. It also a couple of very small bubbles under the vinyl top by the back window, on the left side.

It's a non matching number car. It has a later model BBB 10:1 455, with Hemi Killer Cam and Edelbrock B4B intake that I installed in the car 3 winters ago. The engine has around 350 miles on it at most. The long block was rebuilt by Gary Paine (greatscat) here on V8, and Heads and all the oil mods were done at that time too. I replaced the Torque Converter with a Hughes 3000 stall when I did the engine. The Transmission is an older Fairbanks Turbo 400 that shifts just great. The rear is a very tight and quiet 10 Bolt Posi with 4:11 to 1 GM Gears in it. It was done by a GM Tech over 20 years ago.

    Car is SOLD, Thanks V8

Small Video of it at idle today :)

This is the car that made me want a Buick! I remember seeing this car almost every night in the 80's-90's just before cruising and street racing died on RT 422 in Niles/Warren. Dom was a class act in this car, and used to beat up on every young kid (my age at the time:laugh: ) driving a Chevy "high school" hot rod that crossed his path. This is a great fast with class Buick, that I would vouch for anytime:TU:

    Thanks a bunch guys :)

Eric, those sure were the "Good Old Days". I did get into allot of trouble back then though, until I was smart enough to start going to the Drag Strip

I'm not getting the interest that I expected.

Do you guys think my asking price is out of line?

    Thanks

    Dom,

I am little confused by your ad. You say "It was originally Antique Gold and was repainted GS Fireglow by him. " then you go on to describe the paint condition.

The car looks Gold now (to me), did you mean it was originally fireglow and is now repainted Gold? or did you paint it from Orange back to Gold?

Also you mention buying it in 87 and then later in 78. is the 78 just a transposition error?

Do you have any quarter mile times for it?

    Thanks, Chris

    WOW! Nice Car.

Brings back some memories. A friend back in high school had a very similar car. Original Stage 1, brown, tan top, buckskin buckets. Oh my mis-spent youth!!!

I don't think your price is out of line, seems like a good place to start negotiations.

    Good luck with the sale.

Thanks Chris, yes the 87 and 78 thing was my bad. It's been so long since I looked at the Title and saw that it was 87, and not 78. I bought the car on January 22 1987. Yes, it was originally Antique Gold. I can get the Paint Code when I go over to the storage garage it's in right now. He repainted it Fire Glow about a year before I bought it. Maybe it's the sun light I had when I took the pictures, but it does look allot darker in person. I have not had the car to the track since 97 or 98 I think. I used to run it at the Super Car Showdown at Quaker City. It was running mid 13's then on motor, and 12 teens with the 150 hp NOS that used to be on it. It used to have an 8.5 to 1 Buick Crate motor in it, stock intake, and a 150 HP NOS Kit too. It also used to have M&H Street Slicks on it at all times. Two summers ago the Slicks needed replaced, and I was kind of tired driving it on the Street with Slicks all the time. I took it to a local tire shop here, and had them put the fattest and tallest tire that would fit in there. The next week I took it for a blast. I nailed the throttle and hit the NOS button, and boiled the radial tires, and over revved the engine. I finally got it to hook and once I slowed down, I heard an engine knock after that. I guess I was used to driving it with the Slicks on it all the time, and wasn't used to the Radials that are on it now. When I replaced it with the engine that I bought from Gary, thats in it now, I took the NOS OFF, put an Aluminum Intake on it and moved up to a 10 to 1 motor.

Thanks Jim, I was just wondering about the price. I know the market is bad right now and thought it may have been out of line some.

I'm open to reasonable offers. :dollar:

    Thank you
    Dom

    Dom,

My car in the avatar is fireglow orange, your car looks antique gold to me.

Your car looks more like the attached picture of my old stage 1, which is antique gold.

Chris, I'm sorry, I guess I should have done my "Buick Homework" before I opened my mouth. I do think the car was Antique Gold from the factory and is now Burnished Brown Poly after looking at the VIN Plate and the Color Chart below.

The Body Side Molding was on the car when I got it. It must have been added by the original owner.

    Thanks Joe :TU:

Those sure were the good olde days, thats for sure. I remember when we used to shut down that whole stretch of Pine Street to Street Race. It did ok back then, I used to have allot of guys that were after me, and it was tough to stay out of trouble.

I remember in the beginning that at one time when I had a 66 GTO that had a really built Big Block Chevy motor in it. I used to push it out of my grandmothers garage next door, push it down the street, and start it, so they didn't hear it, and drive it up there with open headers. I got caught in it 3 times and had 3 Drag Racing Tickets at once. Lost my Drivers License, and was in BIG Trouble with my parents.

This is really a GREAT 69 Buick guys, you won't be disappointed. I'm just hoping that I won't have to do Flee Bay :(

I do have the new Heater Core, and also the correct color Vinyl to match the seats. The center portion of the drivers bucket seat is off color a hair. They both go with the car. The rest of the interior is 100% Original.

The rear tires have around 200 miles on them, and the front ones have around 100 miles on them, and they were replaced last summer, and all the front end parts were checked and it was aligned too.

When I replaced the engine, I also installed those new gauges that are in the car now. The wiring for them is wired and taped right into the factory engine harness, and they were wired up so the original Idiot Lights in the car would still work too.

    Thanks
    Dom

    WickedWay Got Torque?

A beautiful car with a rich history. Wish I could afford it, but I'm sure someone will come along who can both afford and take care of it. :TU:

Out of curiosity, what are you running for exhaust? And how does the car act now compared to when you use to race it?

Thank you, I was hoping a good Buick guy from here would get it.

It's a little different to drive now with the Radials on it. I drove it for over 20 years with the M&H Street Slicks on it. I only went through 2 sets in that time span too. You just cant "nail it" as hard with the tires that are on it now, or they just go up in smoke

The exhaust is the same that was on it when I bought it. I think it's just a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 system, nothing special. I did replace the Mufflers with some kind of Walker Turbo Style many years ago. The Baffles went out of the ones that were on it, and they started rattling inside the cases.
