I like it as well! I wonder if original engine is long gone?

    The engine IS long gone..,

Been discussed a few times here on the board. He claims he has the original carb and distributor….

Didn't realize it was the same one. I liked ot then too, lol. Seller just needs to come to terms on its value but maybe it'll do well on BAT.

What would you expect this car to get price wise? I personally think 5k for that is a steal but I'm not too concerned with original parts/engine. I'm just happy to own a car that doesn't have any holes in the floor lol. Kinda hoping the price jumps so I don't have to torture myself looking a the thing every hour.

I suspect based on previous listing that the reserve is close to $30k & that it won't meet that but I'm awful at this stuff:).

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe one day I'll have the cash to steal me a nice gs but I'll stick to the Facebook junk boxes for under 10k lol

This one is an auto (rare to be w/o PS orig). The Cameo Cream one in the other thread is a 4-sp.

Like this one! Obvious the original owner took fantastic care of this car all those years. One of the best unrestored originals I have ever seen. I wouldn’t doubt 46k miles indicated, the condition sure backs it up. Interesting it was not ordered with power steering, but I sure do like that empty clean engine compartment!

Considering condition of the rest of the car it seems unlikely the 455 would be junk but unless I could inspect it in person, I would have to bid on unknowns accordingly.

Seller needs to put in more effort if they want to get that top $$. Thorough driving videos, and detail pictures of all the removed items from the car. Another dozen under hood shots wouldn’t hurt either. Might want to fix front and rear rolling stock is mounted backwards. (Front runners are mounted on the rear ??)

Id be serious w/ in person inspection @ 20k, you know you’re going to spend another 5K on this car to get it where it’s truly turkey and right. And at the end of the day it’s still a 69 on resale

it’s Christmas time and my guess is the auction is going to stall somewhere between 18/23K…

Steve- I looked close (via pictures) at the argent pieces on the dash, the collar around the steering wheel, the gas pedal, and the argent on the console and agree on the mileage.. It isn't great that the original RS engine is gone... However, if he still has the 246 carb and stage distributor, it may be worth it.. My pricing radar has been "off"... So I cannot take a guess. I can only base it on what other 69 Stage 1's have sold for, as well as other 69 GS 400's. In my mind, mid 20's would be a fair price...

High bid's in the 5000's and someone bids 15,000 . Wonder if the bidders know what they are wanting for it, and it's been for sale for months ?

Some of those systems get a “max” bid from you, so they can shoot up quickly. We all know it’s going North of 20…

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

Nice to see the original Stage 1 distributor is included. Bummer that the Stage 1 carb is gone. I still like this car a lot.

I didn't even know there was a 1969 Stage 1 carb? I thought the Stage 1 option in '69 was a dealer installed situation? I seem to remember it was a different set of heads, and apparently a carb? What else was included? Was this built at the factory?

    68 was an over-the-counter package for Stage 1 & 2. 69 , Stage 1 was a factory option.
