I hated to do it. It was our new neighbor that just moved in across the street. Family is parents and two older (in their 20's) sons.

Anyway, we go over with the tray of cookies to say welcome to the neighborhood thing. Now I've heard these two guys running up and down the street in their quads and motorcycles for two days now. I guess letting the street know they're here. And their blue Subaru STi sitting in the drive just staring at me.

So we're talking and it comes up that I have a Buick. Then the one kid says, "Those old cars are kind of nice, but they're no match for today's modern road missles". Oh really. Wife sees that my honor has been offended and that I have been slapped in the face with the white glove. She's not happy.

But I offer to show him my car. After seeing it, he's still talking smack that his blue rocket could take me no problem. That's it, I've had it. So I challenge him to a quickie up on Rt. 18, just a mile or so away for a "quickie".

Now my car been sitting all winter, so while he runs for his keys to show me how it is, I had to check my tires, oil, and let the car warm up for a few minutes. We get up to the street. I've been trying to burn up the tires a bit to ensure better grip.

This guy is new age, and wants to do this from a 30 mph rolling start. OK I said. I let him blow his horn. He jumps me, for about 5 seconds. Then it's all over. I ripped him by at least 3-4 car lenghts and shut if down just over 100 mph. He didn't have too much to say when we got back.

Now the wife is really pissed that embarrassed the new neighbor. Screw him.:spank:

Nice kill:TU: I am not sure why they always want to go from a rolling start. which ever guy that gets to say go, is usually the one that gets the jump. Think how bad it would be if you got to say go.:blast:

It is kind of strange that he'd want to go from a roll - being AWD. He *should* assume that he'd kill you off the line and that if you really had any power it'd go up in smoke anyhow.

I would think with a turbo and AWD, they could launch it into boost without too much problem - but then again I've never driven one.

On friday night street legals i use to run a pumped up sti and man that thing would pull 5 cars on me right out of the gate but by the end of the 1/8 8.43 seconds later for me and 8.8 for him i would get him buy a couple of cars:Brow: thank god for the big block pull, the first time i raced him i thought i was in big trouble. But anyway, the point was his advantage was the hole shot, and maybe it was because it was pumped up i don't know. and he wasn't faster on the tree. I usually treed him every time.

Good kill story. Welcome to the neighborhood, beatch! Have a cookie.

I agree. That was stupid of him to go with a rolling start. I hit the gas from a dead stop & I melt my tires. I'll do a 30 mph rolling start anyday. Send him to my neighborhood. Hemi Charger, My X-clone(The Red Dragon), 2 Chevelles, a GTO cov. & a Nova. Won't you be my neighbor?

fourfiftyfive My car is a mess........

    AWESOME kill!

guys in STi's and mitsubishi evo's think they own the road around here...

except for when they stop in at the dunkin donuts cruise... they stay away from one end of the parking lot where some seriously bad ass muscle cars lurk, but no buicks... so I'll still get to have some fun with them when I finish my car :Brow:

Can you come to my work? There are three of those STi's. Man are those guys cocky, unless its a Subaru it is not fast. :spank: They think they own the road. It doesnt take much skill to launch one of those cars, not that everyone actually knows what a launch is. Mash the gas and hold it until green, then let the clutch up and it grabs. If it bogs its because it has too much power.
