Great kill!!! I also don't understand the start from a roll thing. Especially since he's all wheel drive. I think the problem with kids (keep in mind I'm only 21) is that they just don't know how to drive. They think anything is fast. I've seen so many kids in 4 bangers disappointed at the track when they run 17s in their fart can space shuttles.

    Well guys here we go.

Today I just finished installing the new engine, turbo and trans in the Turbo-Regal (11.22 @ 123 mph before but heads are fully ported now and matched to the intake plus more cam). This Saturday I'll relocate the much larger trans cooler, put the radiator and intercooler back in and fire it up. Engine builder figures around 625 flywheel HP (based on dynoed similar builds) from this setup on race gas.

Wifey still not happy about this!

Next week it goes over to Rollins Speed Shop for some dyno time (drive on dyno) to set the fuel and Alky injection plus some suspension relocation that they guarantee 1.45-1.55 60' times out of with sticky DOT's.
    I'm shooting for 535-545 RWH.
I will be able to watch the fuel gage move left.

Anyway dad stops by today to see how things are going and again says his buddy with the 307 is still bugging him about me bringing it to his place out in the country and run his El Camino. He doesn't believe how fast the T really is. I'm not sure I want to waste the gas, think I will just leave him with his delusion and tell him it would be a close race. Not even thinking of burning that much fuel in the Stage. Maybe I'll bring the LT-1 95 Cadillac Fleetwood instead and still smoke him.

Nope, bone stock and because it's not a Brougham it has 2.56 gears not 2.96's.

I do have a set of 4.10's with a posi unit for the corporate 10 bolt I've been meaning to put in but I have not done any research really on what to do for mods. I have no idea what works and what doesn't (any ideas?). I bought it it with 53K for $6k from the widow of the original owner and it has spent its entire life in the garage here in Gainesville, Florida. My wife hates the thing (she only drives about 5K/year) so I have not done anything to it because I probably should sell it but I like it and will probably drive it when my big conversion van finally dies. My wife can get 16-17 mpg city (checked it twice) out of it and 25-27 hwy.

get rid of "home plate" and get a cai, a catback, 3:73 gears, (4.10's are uncommon for lt1s back by an auto, unless its a race car) headers, roller rockers, tb bypass, and 52mm throttle body. then get a tune and you should have a very healthy lt1!

    Thanks for the input.

I went on the Impala SS board and there are more ideas than I can contemplate.

Have you tried any/all of those mods? I hate doing things over and will usually follow solid, tried and true methods when leaving the motor and trans internals stock. Sometimes it is fun to expirament but with todays cars that gets expensive quickly.

    darkstar02496 LT1 into .....everything

Everything the other guy listed is good, but really the best thing I ever did for my lt1 powered car is a nice high stall tq converter. Bolt ons, gears and a stall will make that thing move.

BTW nice kill to the OP
