Hello all, new member here, I was curious as the title reads, if the Electra gets any love on this forum? I have been digging around for a while and find lots of information on the Skylark/GS and some Riviera information but not much on the Electra. I've been looking for an Electra or an olds 98 for a while, and not much left here anymore due to the derby guys. I finally found a nice 74 locally that I probably paid too much for, but it seems solid and in nice shape, I have a lot of questions, so hopefully I won't be too much of a burden to you all.

What is it that you want to know about the model year 1974 Electra?

That was the only year that Buick offered three different series of the Electra for sale:

    The Electra 225.
    The Electra 225 Custom.
    And the Electra 225 Limited.

This is mostly an A body crowd but there are quite a few B body folks like me on here too. The good news is that the engines and transmissions are typically the same. And so many members have broad experiences that transcend a specific model or year. Welcome.

Thanks for all the quick replies! I mainly have questions on some of the options available and some of the production numbers right now, I will have more questions once I get a chance to dig into the car more in depth, I am technically the third owner, but long story short, basically the second owner through an estate, and have much of the original documentation for the car. And find some of the papers interesting but not sure if it all makes sense hahaha.

I believe it to ba a Stage 1 optioned car, with limited slip rear axle and traction control, and with the air bag option too, which I find an interesting combo, but I guess you could order them any way you wanted back then!

Welcome from Georgia! I love the boats, especially when they’re optioned interestingly. Years ago I saw a ‘74 Riviera GS (light blue metallic) with a Stage 1 grill badge and the ACRS (air cushion restraint system). We like pictures!

Ya my bad for calling it a stage 1, they call it the high performance 455, which from what I read there meant it had the big valve heads and that was it?

The larger cars do get love here. Mine, and all the rest of the Wildcats, enjoy being here. We learn a lot and have fun!

I can try and snap some pictures, bit it's kind of stuffed in a trailer right now for temporary storage since it's snowing/freezing rain mix up here right now, and we're busy trying to finish up harvest.

Much Big Car love here. Mine is a '67 Wildcat sporting Electra interior and some Electra exterior decorations.
