Duh, you are correct,Saturday is the 9th. See what happens when old age sets in and you're retired, you lose track of dates and even what day it is. Good thing today is ? monday?,lol,I'll have time to plan for saturday.Hope to see you there.

    Mark,

    Two things..

Are you sure about the neutral safety switch?.. Early production BB cars had it on the console shifter.. not sure about the 350 cars.

And I assumed that because you have headers, the backdrive rod is not in the vehicle.. That was always the first thing to go when we put headers on the BB cars.. it was in the way, and I don't need a dash indicator to tell me what gear I am in.. it's clearly marked on the console.

And also.. because if the backdrive rod was in place, all you had to do to shift it was grab the bowl at the base of the column, and rotate it.. just like a column shifter..

If that ever happens again.. the hairpin clips on the backdrive rod are the same as the one that holds the shifter cable trunnion on to the shift arm.

You're exactly right. You can see the rod going up to the column in his picture. He could have just rotated the column to shift..

That's exactly what I said when it was posted on FB. I've done it many times and drove my car like that for a month as a poor college kid without money for a new cable.

All linkage is intact. Didn’t have to remove anything for headers

    275/50R-15's are 25.83" tall.

    336/25.83 X 3.42 X 74 = 3292 RPM. Add 150- 200 RPM for converter slip, and you are right there, a bit less than 3500 RPM.
