I know. I don't think he would be much help. If I can't find the original engine and transmission, I'll rebuild the 430 and make a nice driver out of it. Thanks and take care.

Congratulations on saving this one!!! I tried to buy it a few times… just felt it was “too much” each time. I wish I had posted better notes about this one for you… it seems like you can connect the dots fairly well to figure out when the car was parted out. I am fairly sure the New York owner chopped it up and sold off the high ticket items.

I’m pretty certain George is correct. If my memory serves me correctly this was supposed to be a father, son project car that quickly turned into a flip. Once there was no bites. The engine and all its stage 1 parts as well as the trans were being parted out. The car was local to me. Again I followed it around till which ever owner started parting it. I thought there was 2 owners after it left Wisconsin.

This seems like another example of how not every car needs to be fully restored to be enjoyed. There are going to be more and more instances where restoration costs for our old Buicks far exceed the market value. Clean it up, make it a driver, replace parts as you come across them. But meanwhile it still could be a running driving car and appreciated.

I was dead set when I bought my 67 GS400 that it had to be fully restored from day 1. That morphed into just getting it to run and drive for a bit before the tear down, and now, I'm not sure I could bring myself to rip the car apart at all. I just want to fix the few small rust areas, throw a new vinyl top on and drive the heck out of it. I was shocked by the positive attention at the GS Nationals. I think many are starting to see that a rough original car can be appreciated in its own way, simply for surviving and not turning into a parts car.

So it's a (#'s matching car) without all the parts that makes it worthy........nice. Might as well sell the vin take and trim tag. Need to update you title as 69 Stg 1 sell. Missing all the #s matching big $$$ items. Carb and distributor alone will cost 2/3s of the asking price, and that's if you can find them. I know...... I spent 5 yrs looking for the right #s carb and distributor and spent almost 4k 3 yrs ago with rebuilding them. About as rear as hens teeth. Good luck with the sale

    Hey everyone,
I have a new question. I'm looking at buying a 1964 Buick Riviera project with the dual quad super wildcat engine. Anyone have an original engine picture to send me. Engine looks very original except it is painted red and I know that is not correct. I'm trying to get the seller to send me pictures of the engine code. Looking for a KX code. Any info would be great. Thank you and take care.

66 GS engines were red andt hey have an ring cast into the water crossover on the passenger side, as well as a ring in the back of the engine cast in the block.
