    Speaker enclosure

Tom, MTX recommends between .85 and 1.2 cubic feet for 10" Thunder series. I built my boxes with exactly 1 cubic foot. Turns out really nice, since I didn't quite have 12" from side to side (with the amp there). But I compromised with a 13" depth, which brings the box right about 1/4" from the back side of the rear fire wall.

    Tunes

Tom, MTX recommends .80 to 1.2 cubic feet. I have exactly 1 cubic foot behind each sub. It worked out perfectly with the rear firewall. Brackets are on the inside edge of each box to keep it in place, that way nothing will show inside the trunk. When all this is done, it will be upholstered to match the interior. Here is a pic with the amp and some speakers.

    Finally Some Paint

I have been working all hours of the day and night this week, prepping and painting. Everything but the car is painted now. I finished the jambs, bottom side of hood and trunk, bumpers, mirrors, window fuzzies, and nose chrome. Next Friday is the "shoot day" for the car. Since I am now doing this in my garage, I hope it comes out decent. This is my 7th car I've painted, but the first one in such a crude environment. Here are some pics of the rear bumpers to give you guys a glipse of the color.

Here is a shot that shows the variation. In the sunlight, that deep metallic cherry red, in the shadow, nearly black. Cool, huh?

Sorry guys, the photos really don't do the color justice. It looks much more brilliant in real life. Oh, and someone asked what I was planning to do with the window sealer. I was planning to paint the outside edges of the front/rear glass, and using new style sealer (applied with a caulking gun). Thats all for now, next weekend I hope to have the whole car on display here on this forum. Thanks again guys for all the support and motivation.

Under the hood is what really counts

I got the engine bay pretty much finished up today. Tomorrow I'll do a little glazing filler in a spot or two on the hood, and slap it on. I think it looks kinda sharp though.

These came out a little better, found a shadow to stand in! I regret that I'm not a better painter, but in the words of my idol (Joe Dirt), "That ****'ll buff out!" LoL

    Last one

Here is the last one for now. I am trying to decide whether to cut it in 600 and re-clear, or just buff it till I'm blue in the face. Once I figure that out, I'll start putting things back together again. Is that a BOSS color or what???

 :puzzled: Not a BETTER painter?

I'm getting my compressor and paint accessories together, and the paint for MY car, Chris! How much will you charge me, besides Food and Drinks?

As Donald Trump says: You're HIRED! :beer

If you're not even done with it, yet, and it looks THAT Good, already, it DESERVES to be in a Magazine feature! :jd: :bglasses:

Looking great, It looks to me you are a great painter. After i was done painting I would always sand it down with 1000 grit until it is nearly dull and then buff and polish it. It make her sooo smooth and it gets all those little specs and things out. Great job, keep up the good work. You have given me tons of ideas for my 69 Thank you. Happy 4th :beer

Thanks guys... It has a fair amount of orange peel, I think I am gonna re-clear. I think my air pressure at the gun was too high, I cleared a tailgate the next day and adjusted my regulator down... It came out perfect.
