Craig, We are finally somewhat settled. Are you back in the springs yet, or still out playin God? Once I get the garage situated a little bit, I'll be turning wrenches in an attempt to make the Buick Nats this summer. Take it easy.

Wow! The GN treatment looks incredible on the 68-69 Skylark. I say don't paint the rims. Let them stand out and break up/compliment all the black.
Great job. I agree, it's magazine material.

We missed each other this go around; sorry Bud. I was home for Christmas vacation since 15 Dec . I was scheduled to depart the Springs on 3 January for the flight back to Afghanistan. That was delayed by a week+ when I got lucky. A cancellation allowed to me to have knee surgery on the 5th. After one week of recovery, I was on the flight from hell back to Afghanistan: after 36 hours me knee ached like crazy.

Don't know at this point when I'll return to hearth and home -- most likely later into the summer. I had to go about a week into the hole on vacation time to accommodate the delay in my return to the job site.

In the meantime, maybe you can get some ideas for your interior from tbis thread on The Garage Junkies Forum: http://www.garagejunkies.net/showthread.php?t=2192

The thread includes a link to this guys website. He and his dad operate a custom Auto Interior garage. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G interiors : :eek2: : . The price tag is likely just as amazing. :puzzled:

Good Luck with your Buick. It is a sweet ride.

PS - change your data points. Fort Irwin is now in your rear view mirror

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

That's a badass job you did on the '69. If GM hired you to design their cars they'd actually sell some without massive discounts.

P.S. '68/'69 Skylark/GS are the best looking of the whole A-body bunch.

Thanks BB68, apprechiate it. I'm not a designer... I just refine others ideas (read chevelle, nova, mus-dang, etc.) Who's going to Buick Nats this year?

Hey man -- where the h3!! have you been? Surely Fort Carson hasn't gotten you down after only a few months?

It has been two months since your post. What's new with the Buick? Still on track to make the Nationals? Any luck finding a nice place to buiy or are you still renting?

    Let's see some progress . . .

Sorry Craig, got here then went immediately back to NTC for a week, followed by two weeks of field, and now I am in Fort Sill (ANCOC). I won't be back until 15 April. I also bought a Corvair that needed some work to get it reliable before school. When I get back I get to look forward to BDE FTX, followed by two weeks of PLT Mods, followed by 30 days at NTC. Hopefully I can find some time in between all that to wrench on the car. This plt sgt job really eats up my time. I am going to order the harness this week, and hopefully the radiator by the first.

No need to apologize. All you had to say was ANCOC and Plt Sgt. That explains everything. Factoring in NTC and all the field prep for NTC and there is no time left in the day for anything but sleep.

The BB has gotten stale lately (maybe just winter blues) and your thread is the only one I really look forward. Don't rush it now. You have way too much invested in your project (time and dollars and sweat) to cut corners now.

    Craig

PS -- I just looked at your posting again and I'll bet less than 10% of the BB understand all the acronyms and the implications of them. Hang in there Chris -- at your level of responsibility, it adds up to more than just counting toward 20.

Thanks Craig, I need to get her going again. Just so busy I got no time left. What is left goes to the family. Hoping to get some time to wrench in the end of April. I'll keep yall posted.

Did "God" scoop up all the buick gs's and take them to colorado springs??

It's wicked sick how many buick parts and shells are listed on ebay throughout the year from that town...
Nice shave and thanx for sharing the colum switchout with us..
YA giving me some ideas now .
Oh yeah !! I agree that there is something unordinary about the 68-9's sexy lines. I see it in children's faces daily when passing by.
68-9 skylarks are soooooo completely captivating its almost beyond comprehension at times (w/ full trim ofcourse). I still pinch myself to make sure i really have one in my driveway..

Sorry Guys... It saddens me to report no progress. :ball: I have been so busy the last six months, I have to make time to sleep. And, It looks as I will soon be headed over to the land of sand :blast: (IRAQ) so I doubt any notable progress will happen until my return. Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the last couple of years :TU: . I will get her on the road again, unfortunately, as they say, "Life happens". :moonu:

Oh, and Craig, if you are out there, PM me with a phone # if you are going to be in the area in the next three months or so.
