2K for a hood usually comes with an air breather. The last three years doesn’t matter what kind of part you try to sell it doesn’t sell. It takes forever unless it’s a niche part. The board says there’s 45,000 members and yet there may be 50 members on the board at one time an 100 members hiding behind the camera as guests. Unfortunately, we’re all getting older, Some members pass away, and some members go a different direction. I’m glad help other members here with shipping if I can, but you can’t give everything away.

Here's the whole story, i'am buying an aftermarket trunk lid so I can mount a rear spoiler on it.
My original trunk lid is in premo
    condition.
Several months ago, I got into a conversation with Duane, he thinks putting a rear spoiler on my original trunk is a bad idea.

It took me awhile, but I came up with the idea to use an aftermarket truck lid to mount a factory rear spoiler on. I can store my original trunk lid and not screw it up.
I can aways restore my car to original if I ever have to sell it.
Now, you know the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say. :D

I've bought and sold a few things on here. I've never sold anything to make money, I do it to free up space. Usually I look on the classifieds here to see what similar items have sold for and I'll ask a similar figure. If it sells, great. Sometimes after a few weeks it doesn't sell as quick I've seen other similar items go for. In that case I will either take better/more photos, or lower the price, or both. Sometimes doing that will get it sold. If not, I will keep slowly lowering the price until it sells. If I've lowered the price a lot and people still don't want it, I move it to the "pay it forward" section. I'm happy to say after my years on this board and thanks to the people here I haven't had to junk a single thing I've had for sale.

"The Bench" is where most people get in trouble. When it is strictly cars and parts, there's not much to get in trouble over.

If your home or car are still for sale after 3 YEARS.. You either have a condition or pricing issue. Some people are just stubborn. When they could have invested the funds for 3 Years and came out way ahead of trying to get every last penny.

I always post anything I have here because I’m appreciative of the knowledge this board provides me.
It has slowed down over the years but the “Parts Wanted” section is still a great place to post if you need something specific. Some of the most helpful and kind members monitor that and will try their best to get you what you need.

I happen to see Mecum car auction last night and this was from 2023 sometime and i couldn't believe the prices they were getting for cars. 400 grand for some of those 60's Vettes' and they were top notch but I got to say almost a half mil that is a lot of cash. Even a GTO from 70 went for 400 grand. wow I say
I myself think a GS hood should not go for over a grand, if I would have thought back then there would be this kind of money in parts I would have lived in the junkyard in the 80's and took all the parts out. oh well, here today gone tomorrow. lol

There was nothing better than going shopping in the junkyard on a Saturday morning, the smell of oil, grease, and dirt in the hot morning sun;):D

So true. I lived near Flint, MI. On the east side along Dort Highway were literally miles of salvage yards. One could literally trip over '60's Buicks and Buick parts.

I still enjoy a weekend yard run...just not much left in the way of old GM stuff anymore. Plus all the good yards are an hour drive from here.

They (EPA) ruined all the fun of junk yards, not much if anything to look at, just crappy late model and imports:rolleyes:

Cash for Clunkers and the Chinese buying up ALL the old scrap metal at the junk yards when the scrap metal prices were at an all time high ruined the junk yard fun trips.

Cash for clunkers was a joke. It put a lot of parts stores out of business. Ultimately, I had my worst sales figures ever, it took me a lot to overcome it. It took all the automobiles that would generally need replacement parts off the road. It flooded the used parts business. Government did not think that idea through.
    It really hurt our economy…

Anyone wanna bet they'll try it again, but instead of cash, they'll give tax credits towards EVs, just to get more ICE vehicles off the road?

I DID live in the junkyards back in the day and kept most everything except when someone made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

There are mostly late models in the junk yards now, but in the 80's, there were just as many late models, but we were driving them. It's all relative.
