I talked to him on wedenesday. He said he'd be kind of in and out on friday and saturday. I probably won't get ahold of him till Monday. The site is most likely just down. Jim Burek

    Jim,

Based on your conversation with Dick, what's the status on the block ship date?

Referencing previous posts on this string, I expect the first one's are going out by this upcoming Wednesday. Please validate.

If one was to put their deposit on a block today, what would be the projected delivery date?

    Thanks,

    John

Hey, whats up guys. Is it true that the new Buick block will be delayed again because they have to run some Mopar blocks first. Is this true?

I'm waiting to hear a Reply to John Hixons' question regarding putting down a deposit now, what would the projected delievery date???? This is a very valid question, some of us guys have been waiting but not ready to, or able to throw the money out for this block. If we were not the first 25 or so to initally place the order, where do we stand now, if we are interested?? Is there plans to make more than one run?? Or did the small list of inital orders show that there's not a big demand??? I know that I want one, but it had better be all that it's supposed to be, I've just about had it spending on a regular basis to maintain "Buick Loyality"........

NOT TRUE! The Buick block is not going to be delayed because of the mopar block, The mopar block will be AFTER the Buick block. Jim Burek

Gary, A s long as the first run is not completed, we can still keep adding to the run. There will be another run of blocks after the first one, I can't tell you when, down the road somewhat because I'm sure the mopar blocks will get done before the next run of Buicks. Jim Burek

just to sound in with another (mildly) positive note; the Bulldog site is back up. the server probably hiccuped over the turkey holiday and there wasn't anybody around to give it a kick.

Yes it does, and yes it is. I don't know exactly where it falls into the mix, I'll try to get some info on that in the next week or so, I don't want Bradshaw's brain to explode. Jim Burek

I have some Questions. The People that order Blocks with 55mm Cam tunnel. Doesn't the Cam tunnel need to be raised .200 to .250 so the Lobes on the Cam clear the Rods. Can not see how it wouldn't need to be Raised.
A roller camshaft that i have Mike's 45.35mm 55mm Cam is 9.65mm Larger than a Stock cam. Small block Chevy Cam Roller Core is 47.44mm Small block Ford Roller Core is 52.44mm.

How thick are the Roller Cam Bearings

So I wanted to put these together

    Buick Roller 45.35 MM
    Small Chevy47.44 MM
    Small Ford 52.44 MM

Speeking some more on these here is what i came up with

55mm Cam Bore in the Block witch is 2.165 inches
the Cam bearings each would be .420mm with is .165 thousands Thick the hole Bearing with the caged roller's so the cam it self would be 50.80mm so in inches it would 2.000 inch cam. Looking at a ACL Book these is what i have found.

Ford Small BLock Standard Shaft Size very from lobe to lobe i will brake it down. these will be done in inches

    Cam

Camshaft to rod clearance isn't going to be a problem until you reach 4.5 stroke.
The 55 mm core is 2.1653 the housing bore is actually 60mm 2.325.Yes a 50mm core has a 55 bore.

I know one guy thats running a 70mm core. The bigger the better the larger the core the better control of lobe ramp profiles you have.If we are going to do this go as big on the core as we can.I would like to go 60 but acording to Dick we would end up machining into the side of the water jackets but we wouldn't hit water. On our sb ford we went to a 55 mm core just for the added lobe control you gain I see it as a win win situation. We may not need to ultra large lobes right now but down the road we may have a head that will flow over 1.0 lift and we are set to except that.
