Jim, I believe I have found the problem. The pictures I had a problem uploading were pictures of the coil mounting that i had previously uploaded in the past. I went to look for them in my "previously uploaded folder on V8" There are 67 pages of photos that I have uploaded, and 1322 files. As I started to scroll through the pages, I noticed that when I got to page 26 and beyond, all the squares were blank. The file names were there, and I located the coil pictures, but they are blank. When I recently tried to attach the pictures, I guess the system recognized it as files I had already uploaded at a previous date, and it used the file it had, the blank one. Maybe there is a limit to the number of pictures I can store on V8, or was there a problem when we switched over?
Yep, you figured it out Larry.. We did have some corruption of the database during the transfer, and some pictures were lost. JW
I found two of mine that were corrupt, they appeared blank. Unfortunately the only way I could tell was to click each one at a time to see (I only had two pages worth). If there's no quick way to determine what is corrupt and what's not, you may have to go through them yourself rather than ask an admin to do it. Devon
To get to the list of my attachments I clicked on "settings" at the upper right of a page, then on the bottom left clicked on "attachments" under the Miscellaneous heading. I clicked the filename of each one to see if they were ok, then checked the boxes for the corrupt ones (as well as others I didn't want to keep anymore) for deletion. Devon
Nope, that didn't do it. I just checked in manage attachments and all the blank ones are still there.
I'm still having trouble uploading pictures. I can't find a specific link related to uploading attachments as on the old site, only one to manage them which doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Sorta on the same subject, but is there any way to get the thumbnails back? I am finding it difficult to view multiple attachments in posts.
ttt I have not been able to upload pictures since the upgrade either. I tried again this morning, and this time I tried to reuse pictures I have previously uploaded and got the same "exceeded limit" message.
X2 Haven't been able to post even small pics to forum sence redu.. HEEEEEEP ---------- Post added at 01:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 PM ---------- X2ou:
Chuck, I had no problem posting your (resized by me) photo on the board, and still you are not able to post that same image o No: Go to www.photobucket.com and get a free account to post your photos on the board. You don't receive any spam from Photobucket, but if you want, you can give them a fake e-mail address when you register. This because you don't have to click a conformation link in an e-mail send to your address to activate your account. Photobucket is easy to use, and you don't use the board's bandwidth anymore :TU:
Upload picture test: This is my first attempt since the board was changed, as I'm not able to post any pics. . . . still getting 'exceeds limit' message, and no pics - what gives ?????????? o No: Problem solved ! . . . and this may be the solution for others too. :TU: I had way too many pictures stored in my picture file, and posting additional photos exceeded the board limit allowed. So I deleted all of my old photos (...23 pages), and now I can post new pics with no problem !! Hopefully, this will help others sort out their posting pic 'dilema'. :beer
Hey Randy, "long, cool woman"...... Is this the lady who's e-mail address we used a few months ago ? Here's a song from a Dutch band for her :TU: (All band members are over 60 years of age) <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/acLF-GZeKNw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Great tune !! . . . not the same one Erik, she's just a friend who posed for me. I was thinking more along the lines of the Hollies song !! :TU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP94PlEtsEQ
