I too would be in line for a couple of these. When I fiised my GS over 16 years ago, I was lucky enough to come across a mint wheel that I painted and clear coated in Urethane. Still have a couple of more '65's to finish though. That said, here's to waiting. Loren

Now understand these will HAVE to be painted to match your interior. Waiting on the phone call to get them. Will post as soon as I get them. Frank
Hopefully just in time for Christmas! Merry Christmas to me, Merry Christmas to me!!!!!!!!!!:beer :gp:
Any special directions to painting them? (type of paint, clear coat, etc.) Here are the '65 interior paint codes:
I have painted two in the past--one used standard wheel and one deluxe NOS wheel. I used a single stage Urethane paint with a hardner/activator. You will need to add some flattner to some of the colors to keep them from being to shiny--it makes it look more like plastic instead of being painted. Don't use enamel, laquer or any clear coat paints. The enamel and laquer will not hold up, and the clear coat paints won't look right--it will look painted, whereas a single stage urethane paint with the right amount of flattner looks like a plastic wheel that isn't painted.
Thanks for the info Brian... What color will you be painting yours? (perhaps you could paint mine too? o No: )
If I get one, I will be for a spare. Since this thread started, I finished restoring my GS and had D&D automobilia in PA hand-make me one for my car. It cost way too much, but man does it look nice!
I am projecting a delivery date of the first week in February. Being on vacation now I won't be home until end of January. Price will be $165.00 plus shipping, which I will determine when I package one. This is a projected time frame but not written in stone. Thanks for your patience. Frank
That is great to hear. The price makes it a reality I think for a lot of us. THANKS for keeping on this project!:beer Loren
I'm still in too:TU: well done Frank and thank you for doing it correctly! Enjoy your vacation.:beers2:
