My first was a 70 GS350, silver w/black vinyl top. Paid $100 for it from my dad's buddy. The tired 350 had 156,000 miles when it finally needed to be replaced. Since there wasn't a lot of performance mods for buick 350's back in tne 70's, I built a 327 chevy screamer and dropeed it in, along with a 4-speed. That car ruled!:TU:

    my first new car !

my first new car was a canadian , oshawa built 1970 chevelle malibu , 2 dr ht , pearl white interior , bucket seats , console , 350v8 L78 (300 hp) , th350 , posi , heavy duty suspension , dog dish hubcaps , am radio + dual speakers , underdash lights , trunk light , tinted windshield , & forest green in colour .
i ordered this car in late february 1970 & took delivery in early april .
car was fast from the get go ; a real sleeper . i installed a set of h70X14 tires on 6" rims . i removed the 350 fender logos & the chevelle grill bowtie (still have the bowtie) .
if that car could talk , it could tell some great tales .
again , if hindsight was 20/20 , i would have kept the car .
i was able to track all the subsequent owners until 1989 when the car ceased to be licenced . did talk to the final licenced owner
in hopes of retrieving the car & restoring it . however , a year before i contacted him , he sold it & the new owner never registered it again . probably became a thumper race car .
    that my 1st ride !

MY first car was a 1968 Riviera with a busted rod, We dropped in a freshly rebuilt 430 and had some fun. That car had stock skinny bias ply tires and would smoke both rears all the way into third gear.:Brow:

    Firsts car

My first car was a 63 Chevy II I bought in 72 when in high school for $225. It had a 283 with a 4spd, but what a pile it was. It was very rusty and loud but I didn't care, it was mine. Also had a 55 chevy with a 327 spd. Since I got my buick 10 years ago I could never go back to a small block, Love that torque.

    very first car

it was 1 1957 hillman minx , made in england . car was charcoal in colour with red leather , yes , leather bucket seats . 4 cylinders with a 4 sp on the column . engine would rev like no tomorrow to the point where the fan belt fly off . the exhaust system was poor on the car & very expensive to purchase a muffler . being farmers we improvized . we installed a ford (8n) tractor muffler , on backwards , and it fit perfect & work great . sounded like a hot rod . anyhow we had that car for 3 years & it just rotted away .

My first car is a 1953 Ford Victoria, It was also my dad's first one. He bought it in 1962 for 125 bucks, and kept it all those years. I got it when I was 12 and took it apart, (still haven't got it back together). Two years into the project I got kicked out of the shop for dad's 40 Ford 2-door street rod.
The Buick by the way is the same color and year as the 67 GS400 that dad bought in 68, his second car, he traded it in in 72 to the chevy dealer for a brand new 72 Monte (he still has it). But he missed the GS so about 12 years ago he bought this Rag top, I got it from him 2 summers ago.

My first car I bought was a 1968 Skylark Custom. 68,000 miles, rustier than hell, but even witha two barrel single exhaust and the 2.53 super highway gears I embarassed plenty of 5.0 mouse-stangs.
I had it for a year then ran out of money to pay for it and college. Definitely one of my favorites, other than my wildcat I have now. :Brow:

Traded it for a 1970 Estate Wagon (really, just the engine) that is not restorable... but has a nice 455 that needs nothing more than a starter. Unfortunately the car (more importantly, the engine) has been burried in the 40+" of snow we had all winter.

My first car was a 1988 Chevy Cavalier. I got a great deal for it, but only because the owner passed away and it was sitting for a few years. It was the biggest piece of crap and I ended up spending more money to keep it running then I paid for it. My dad called it The Cadavalier.

Then I came across my second and favorite car, a 1970 Buick Skylark. I bought it off the origional owner who only drove it to the grocery store and to church on Sunday. It was all origional, garage kept, and had only 67,000 miles. It's a blast to drive and I cruze everywhere, and it will kill any import!:Brow:

My first car was a 1972 Buick GS Stage 1 Convertible. It was Cortez Gold with a white top and interior and heavily optioned. It had 66k on the odometer when I gave the man $2,000 for the car in 1981. A faulty water pump had caused a couple of burnt valves and the original owner did not want to fix the problem.
I found the car by accident. A guy came by the gas station where I was working and I was taken in by the excellent condition of the car and the subtle styling of the Buick. A deal was struck and after an engine rebuild, the car was better than new. I kept the car all through High School. It was known around my area as one of the fastest and most consistent performers. An incident with an icy road and a ditch led to a repaint in Ferrari Red (hey I was 17). The work was done by Don Drennan Buick in Hoover, Al. I sold the car in 1986 for $5,000 and used the money to buy an 1986 BGN. Like many of us, I always regretted selling my GS.

My first car was a 1976 Chevy Chevette GT. We ripped out that enemic 1.8lt 4cy out of it and dropped in 3800 v6. 3speed auto with some 'makeshift' adjustments to handle the new power. And a hackjob 'posi' rear end, thanks to welding :Brow:

Damn that car was fast when it was done... but ultimately, I ended up jumping it off some train tracks, cleared the adjacent street about 15feet away, and the cars body almost ripped passed the frame.

My friends quote at the time was ''Dude, if you were hurt, I wouldn't be able to help you because I'd be laughing too hard. We could see under and in front of your car.

    Ahhh to be young.

my first car was a 63 ford fairlane 500 with the prototype 289 w/ holley 4bbl. it was nice but it had a 2 speed auto so it could've been better off the line, but it would do 85 mph in 1st gear.2nd went to about 130+ . (estimate, speedo stopped @ 115)

My first car was a blue 1969 GS with a 350 / 4 speed. What a great car. Of course at 18 I couldn't afford to keep it running and sold it. Now I have a Sunbeam Tiger which is fun to drive, but as evidenced by my presence here, I want back into the Buicks. The Sunbeam is fast, but not conducive to long cruising like the Buick. I drove a Stage One not long ago and couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I figure this time around I want either a GSX or a 455 convertible. They are so much fun however, I guess my favorite will be whatever I end up getting and driving around.

If anybody knows of any good deals let me know.

My first car was a 1990 Chrysler 4 door salon. Bought it with just under 100k miles, sold it last summer with 163k miles in just over 4 years. Bought GN when i was 17 , thats a keeper, and got an 88 lesabre, last year that just got painted and everything done. Something about those old grandma/grandpa lesabres i like, easy maintenance and also great drivers.
