67 Riviera 430 Build: Chapter 2

    The regulator teeth are mostly gone in one area, and I think it is actually seized, so it is what it is.

    I've welded teeth back onto the regulator. Then file, dremel & fine tune. Trick is you need to quench it to harden.

    There is a complete 66 riv at the local scrapyard. I can check if it has power windows. I can't promise i'll get there anytime soon though.

    Im sure there is at least a foot of snow that has to melt off still. That's the kicker.

    Are you on the aaca forums, John? If not, join up there and place a parts wanted ad. There's a section just for Rivieras and it's all those guys are into for the most part. Be the best place to find stock parts, I'd imagine.

    Thank you guys, I have a lead on one from the board right now, one 45 minutes from home at a pick and pull, and a third up in NH from the board. Thanks to all those guys so far, lets hope it pans out.

    I stopped at the junkyard with the 66 riv today. I needed a wiper arm for the jetstar. The riv has manual windows.

    Ah ok thanks anyway Joe. By any chance, do you see any dash ash trays in that Riviera?

    New list:

    1. Window regulator
    5+ hours
    ✅2. Need a Snell Helmet 30 mins
    4. Dust off the whole car, it’s super dirty
    30 mins
    ✅5. The two dang springs that hold up the ass trays 10 mins
    ✅6. 67 Riviera ash trays 10 mins
    ✅7. Patch the leak in the windshield wiper reservoir 1 hour
    8. Find a new fan shroud, mine is a lil busted in the eyes of a concours restorer
    30 mins
    ✅9. Replace the parking brake cables 1 hour
    ✅10. Verify the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts
    ✅11. Verify the new needle and seat issues
    ✅12. Use reverse to reset all four drums
    ✅13. The radio 4+ hours
    14. Headliner a long time
    ✅15. The interior carpet(if you know, you know) 2 hours
    ✅16. Fix the exhaust leak at the header
    ✅17. Fix the exhaust banging against the new bolt
    ✅18. Some fadass fuggin tires for the strip
    ✅21. Nice rims for the rear
