I thought there is a long time between pure stock races in Martin and Stanton.I talked to Dan Jensen about this and wanted his blessing wich he gave on a possible event.I ran it by the guys that run Muncie Dragway in Muncie Indiana and they are listening. Its old school not a fancy place but my 428 CJ Mustang hooks better there than any other track I have run at 1.96 60 ft time so far.I know not to make it a weekend of the Mopar nats .I am looking for any other major events to not conflict with.I need to guage the # of people that actually would show .Its just a possibility any thoughts .Thanks Steve:3gears:

    Steve,

Personally speaking, between the Martin Race and Stanton,my plate is already full. When I consider family, car show commitments ,and work ,it's all I'll be able to do ,to make it to those two races.

Also, you're going to be up against the hottest part of the season ,so the air is likely to be so so at best.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Good Luck!

Aug would be something i'd be interested in,Martin's June date is just to busy of a time at work for me,and Indiana is almost next door.

    Steve,
If you could do it in early to mid August, I'll bring the '57. Muncie's a decent track.

August works for me, too. July is a disaster with conflicts upon conflicts. Count me in with one of them.

Rhonda and I both ,could do a August race.
Just don't sell the farm to do it though. We've seen a lot of people try, and have to much out of pocket expense to recover. I don't wish that on anybody.

Are you considering a one day or a two day event?

Yes, I would consider it. Probably August would work better than July.

Also curious about, is it gonna be a 1 or 2 day event?

Does the track have lights? Since it is in the heat of the summer, start the event later in the day and run them into the evening. Just an idea.

I'd consider an Aug event. and I'd even bring my car depending on how strict the rules are regarding, um, comestically challenged vehicles  (that ones for Stefina  ) I really am going to try and do something about it this spring though, so it might be a moot point.

It would appear I would be out. Between the two races, a third I have committed to, judging at the Mopar Nats, and Tim Lapata's stuff in Oct. I have already asked more of my family than I should.

Good luck and if it works out maybe I could fit it in next year.

Aug might work for me too!!A 2 day event would be nice, but Indiana is not that far away, and we have family close by to visit,so we could kill 2 birds with one stone!

I'm booked from the last weekend in July to the 3rd weekend in August. Also remember the BPG Horsepower Nats at National Trail, Aug 3-5 will take out many if not all of the Buicks!
Muncie has lights, was there for an Indiana Chapter GS club race many years ago, it got over at 3AM, and I was runner up in the '68 GS Convt!

I would have to ask my lovely bride, but one in August would be cool! 2 days would be best and I could make it there in less than 10 hours! :TU: And I am sure that I could drag Hodges along. Mr Clary, are you game?

I think we can have at least three Studebakers and possibly a supercharged T-Bird.
