Turn signal racing at it's finest! MSD has comparible units.

OK here ya go, trac. control made easy!!! Watch this vid and pay att. as to how to trigger, and what you can do with this simple little item!!!!! Now think back to this summers racing---- got it in your head ----- play back the sound in your head of those few fast cars---- hear it working????? Oh bye the way did you catch the part about 12 volt out put & 5 volt refernce??? Turn signal---- same time--same place every pass!!!!!!!!!!

No, Jim, I do not. I never had a problem with the rules. I never had a problem with rule breakers. It ain't up to me. I think that the event organizers should run the show. I don't think ANY racers should be teching cars. But I know that to keep things moving along it's sometimes a must. If people want to spend the whole day teching cars to catch joe blow's illegal wingnut it's fine by me- I'll keep beating my car and having fun.
I worry about my car and my lane. There are too many positives that go along with this sport. I have and will help anyone who needs it.
No-one believes any of our cars are pure stock. Who cares?
Dan and Bob have my full support for what they have done and for what they will do in the future. The Martin folks run a nice laid back event. It is up to these people to police the events. I don't see why it is such a problem. With this car I have now I'll be getting my a$$ kicked regularly in competition. So what? It's a damn fun ride and I hope to keep running it. Should I be faster than joe dokes and his BuiOldsBeeStang? Don't care. The only guy I'm gunning for is Tony R. and his L78. He's got a good tenth and a half on me so it won't be easy. That's the fun. I don't care about an 11 second anything.

As I said before; in 2011 there's supposed to be changes. It won't affect me anyway. But, there must be support for the guys giving us this fun or it will end.

I'm curious as to what ET's are now going to be acceptable after we're rid of all these non-pure stock cars...:Do No:
Maybe we can get the top 20 of all time chart and start a new column with this data.

Tim, I never accused you of anything when it comes to my vette. Just stating a few facts. My health issue was mentioned in a previous flame-fest. Frustrated? Yes. It would have been easy to not get another ride after the vette left.

Paul...............are you LS6Racer on the FAST website?

This is what LS6Racer posted on another car that turned out to be a bad thread because know one knows if the car is illegal.

"I don't know what's in the car.... and I don't care. It takes more than Parts and Pieces to make a car go fast. If I have a question about what works and what doesn't, who do you think I am going to ask? "

    http://bfastracingmessageboard.runboard.com/t1449,offset=10

People are suspecting another racer for cheating without knowing for sure.

The person that goes by LS6Racer on the FAST website doesn't give 2 craps if people are cheating by that comment. Thet are just encouraging illegality of cars. If this is you than we absolutely disagree about what went on this year. If this is not you than disregard and please except my apology.

I've seen an orange 1969 ZL1 Camaro for the last couple of years always going down the track with it's turn signal on. I always thought that it had an electrical problem. Now I have a better understanding of what was happening. :idea2:

What?!? You guys didn't notice there is now a center turn lane at Mid-Michigan?? I thought everyone knew that! They weren't using ignition/traction control devices, they were just signalling to turn onto the return road. Yeah, that's what they were doing. :puzzled: A certain white ZL-1 Camaro was afflicted with the same electrical glitch as the orange ZL-1 Camaro. It obviously must be an electrical problem inherent to Chevies. They reminded me of blue-hairs driving down the road with the left signal eternally flashing..........blinka--blinka--blinka--blinka--blinka--blinka

I had addressed this with Dan and Bob and they assured me that these shenanigans (and others) will NOT be allowed for the 2011 PSMCDR.

I'm just a rambling Hillbilly, but getting rid of MSD boxes won't fix this...as Randy perfectly pointed out, there are standalone devices out there that are virtually undetectable and will fit in the palm of your hand. A local roundy-round guy let me hold his Davis unit recently while he explained his experiences with it...you can check an MSD box quickly & easily, but I'm gonna tell you that finding one of those Davis units [or a comparable piece] ain't gonna happen.

Nice detective work...Yes that's me. You are right. I don't give a crap if people are cheating. I can't control it. I'm not running the show. Are you? I pay my money. I run my car. I keep my mouth shut. Now if someone is kicking a horse turd and putting my fun in danger; then I will speak up. Your beef should be with the tech team. I'm not racing the fast RAII (11.18) or the slow one (11.75) nor will ever have to worry about it. I'll most likely not ever have you in the other lane.(I think you are running 12.20's) So I don't give a crap what's under your hood either.
My point in the post was that given the same content in two cars; one guy is going to make his work better. That is sorely overlooked in this racing series.
I don't think any F/S racers in that thread up to that point would likely be lining up with either RAII...but if you do it will be the slow one first. We know he's legal so good luck.
Nobody believes these cars are pure stock.

John Brown On permanant vacation !!

I've been under most of the cars some of you are all worked up about with the exception of the Pontiac. Those magic boxes you have linked to work off of a pickup on the driveshaft or inside of the transmission, inside of the rearend or maybe even a pickup on the disk brakes or even a wheel bearing. Let me tell you, there are no electronic pickups on the driveshaft, the rear axles, or inside of the transmission or rear end, disk brake or wheel bearings. Why not make it a point to stick your head under there and look. One more thing, some of the drivers of the Orange ZL1 Camaro aren't that sharp :idea2: when it comes to following instructions, like remembering to turn on the turn signal. If the turn signal flashing was such a give away, why not just remove the flasher. Or even better yet, have the traction control working full time and just turn it off for burn outs.

Years ago, like in the 1960's, way before traction control, many cars, especially Mustangs, would have enough chassis flex that the turn signal would come on every run. Maybe they were just ahead of their time?

Suppose for a minute that you were to install a 8" converter without traction control. What do you think the results would be? I've seen the Orange Corvette and the Orange Camaro tested for stall speed. It was somewhere near 2200 to 2400 rpm. Can you get that kind of stall speed from a 8" converter behind a 650 horsepower 427? It's time to stop looking for a boogey man every time a car goes faster than you do.

Maybe the thought is "I know I'm cheating and still getting beat. They must be cheating too."

Did you ever think that Dan and Bob would like to keep the cars to the rules if they had a choice? Did ya think that they revamped the rules in hopes the racers could come to the point where people were at least trying to meet the rules. I've heard them extend to racers that were not right to just change it next year for when you come back but stay and race. The point is they want people to come but try to do it right. Those guys are awesome because they want everyone to be involed and appart of it. My hats off to Bob and Dan. It is an awesome event run by 2 great people and their helpers once a year. They have everything to be proud of. When I talked to Dan and told him that Bob and he would go down in automotive muscle car history, I ment it!

The problem we have is that people take advantage of Dan and Bob's super generosity. Why do you think people on this website are talking about racers and their cars and not Bob and Dan. I hate to say it but YOU are part of the problem as you feel welcomed to encourage cars that don't meet the rules and never intend to, and have the sense to tell people that want it right if the race is cancelled you hold them accountable. The people who are asking fellow racers for accountablity to the rules are the people ruining it! Really??? We have rules that are posted and because of Bob and Dan's generosity they don't want to be the bad guys so your justified saying those NOT RIGHT are fine. You are a sellout, and quit selling everybody else out as well on the rules. I don't care if people don't believe if these cars are original because they are NOT! The Pure Stock Drags is the name of the race not what it is. Just look at the rules with compression Paul.

I tell ya what Paul,....... If you don't show to the PSMC drags with a car next year neither will I and 2 A$$HOLES missing will help save the race. I'll do that for the race will YOU? If your so worried about YOU. Are you that willing of a protector of the race? That is how much I believe the racers needs to hold to the rules or trying to run by the rules to make it right. Are you willing to sit out next year as I do? HELLO McFLY!

I always thought it ran what a straight axle Vette could. Heck mine ran 13.60 and was 300-350lbs heavier, plus could have benefitted from several changes. :Do No:

BTW, To run Dan and Bob ideas by a group of long term participants, Dan called the "distinguished racer meeting" and invited the participants.

I guess we see things differently. You want the rules enforced and want everyone to gang up on violators? I run by the rules and leave it up to the organizers to enforce the rules.
I'm not encouraging anything. I show up with a car that meets the rules and runs like it. I'm not running for P/S president. There has been rule breaking by lots of folks. I'm not responsible for their actions. Isn't it obvious that it should be easy to weed out the blatant rule violators?
They said they will do a better job policing it in 2011. I'm going to give them a chance to do it. It won't make me do anything differently than what I've been doing. Getting in their face about illegal this and that doesn't help IMO.
I would not expect miracles. The popularity and ever increasing car count is going to make it tougher to police. For every car there is another potential interpretation of the rulebook.
My presence at the race will go un-noticed as would my absence. If I'm able to be there I will.

Paul you are right, we differ very much on what being a participent at the Pure Stock Drags is. In a previous post you spelled the word integrity and if I can get you and others to encourage other racers to get some, the race would be even better. Do you get it?.......?

Better understanding WHAT!!! This is too much!! HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tach hits the turn signal lever witch turns it on....You guy's are really to much :Dou: . Hear this I don't run ANY timing retards or ANY traction devices on ANY of my cars or the cars that I work on and includes my F.A.S.T. corvette, but if I did do you really think I would let you see it by using the turn signal to activate it and for the whole world to see COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!! You all can do better than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!:moonu::bla: :bla: :bla:

I can't get an answer to this question so I'll ask you. I see from the 2010 chart that you were the quickest LS6 Chevelle on that particular day.
I want to run my LS6 also. At what ET quicker than yours would you be saying something is not right with my car and it needs looking at? Looks like the 4.30 gears work well in that combo. I think Tim C. has run 20's also but I'm not sure.
