Both heads were leaking at the bottom of the head ,stains down the block.
Buffed the block with a scotchbrite pad and carb cleaner, to make sure this thing is spotless.. MUST SEAL!!!!!!!!! :Dou:

Paul's Impala is on it's way to the exhaust shop, then maybe we'll think about, you know, starting the new motor :Dou:

Brake problem traced to bad master cylinder. Napa rebuild about 5 years ago (50 miles max. ) Oil leak was drain plug seal. Seems OK now will see overnight. May make it yet.

Still chasing an overheating problem, need to fix an exhaust leak, change oil, change plugs, wires and be loaded up Wednesday night. Plenty of time :Dou:

Well all under car tasks are done except oil filter and starter after the exhaust goes in, Then we have to fully dress the front of the motor carb fuel line, plugs, ignition, ect then Oh yeah start and break in the new motor no biggie heh heh . Hoping to turn the key tomorrow night some time will keep you informed. Long as we don`t hit any bad speed bumps we are looking decent.. SHould make Stefina happy I am sure he thought I was joking about bringin it when we talked at Autorama this year ...
Oh and I have a truck now I just have to find a car trailer.... Nothing to worry about YIKES!!!

Yes it will be nice to see that car....it is one fine machine....I'll bet it's better than Darrel Starbird's Superflex Moonbird......it is! It's better than Darrel Starbird's Superflex Moonbird!

Didn't think you were joking. I made the bet with you on the rods just to add incentive.

I know you didn't use them....but if the car is there a bet is a bet! :TU:

Bust a deal.......face the wheel!

    done, kind of

The LS6 gear is in. Knocked her around Friday on the 3.36 gear, Larry really should not leave me in charge, and it ran good that is all I will say at this point. Raining so I will not get a chance to run in the new gear today and see if the 4.11 does its job.

SC/360 is ready to fire up today. Exhaust was built yesterday by my buddy Rich who has gone nuts helping me out. I will break the cam in today and see where we are at. Hopefully no surprises. No dyno time for this one. All the tuning on the Motorcrap carb and timing will be at the track. Everything but the paint work is done on the car, at least as long as nothing odd happens.

Busted a hump on Bruno's Vette yesterday, runs strong, looks good, and those sick skinny tires actually work once I beat the new tire casing off them. Again these Vette guys really should not leave me in charge of low mile cars!

Hell, I am still trying to get Paul to write a checklist.............

We do owe a thanks to a mystery Pure Stock who helped us out on Sunday with the motor install......

My perspective on getting ready is a little different. My checklist has to do first with making sure the car is safe for the drive... then I fill the tank with gas and just wait for Thursday.

I took my trailer to the car wash Sunday and washed it inside and out......

Is that the same? :Do No:

Don't want the car or any "parts" to get dirty.

    Perfect

Your drive rdl is probably the best one of all, enjoying an old car and can put the top down if you wish! :beer This is one of the few times of year where I actually have to put the top up :(

Think I've got the Ramrod ready to go brake and oil leak wise. Drain plug seal was the oil leak, but still find nothing wrong with the hydraulic system on the brakes. Rear reservoir was very low when I had the problem a coupla weeks ago, topped it off and everything seems fine. Cannot find any evidence of where that fluid went. Pulled both rear drums, all fine there, inspected the underside, all fine there, checked the back of the master cylinder, no problem there. Bringing along another M.C. just in case it's an internal problem in the new M.C. Probably should put some hiking gear in the trunk if i lose them and go off the end of the track.   Emergency brake works great, could get exciting. Thank goodness it's a 4 speed and I can knock a lot of speed off with the gears.

Might have to add a half day to the vacation!

Hit a few speed bumps. I did not get the SC going. Looks like tonight as the items are addressed and missing parts just came.

LS6 pooped a water pump gasket when I was running in the new gear and putting miliage on the motor. The gasket elongated like a rubber band.? New ones are in and will bring spares just incase. Larry will like this car. With the proper gearing it runs well.

Wish me luck on the AMC or the Judge will be unretired for the fourth time.
