My 1970 Post Sedan Project

    Obviously Dan isn't as particular about keeping the outside of his garage as clean as inside....:laugh: :laugh:
    I'd have thought that with that mess,garage time would become a better opportunity for him...:laugh:

    Man,we have a little snow,but I'd kill for something like that! I'll trade the 4 ice storms we have had in the last week and a half for that any day..

    It`s always nice when we include our wives as car owners :TU:

    Ray, sorry to tell you that your best bet is to find a donor Post Sedan, and pray that the parts are in good shape. No one re-pops these hard to find parts, just not enough demand in Post Sedans.

    The Post door seals is available through Soft Seal.

    The door panels can only be made by SMS Interiors in Oregan. Not Cheap :rant:

    Post Sedans are rare with odd parts, But I Love Them! Ray, BTW.....I love that hood on your Post Sedan.....Post some pics of it and the car.

    Hey Dan have you thought about looking into Chevelle panels I think they are available form Legendary for their post cars. Wouldn't they fit? I mean is anyone doing a Concours resto on one of these? I hope they fit as I wouldl rather just do that for my car driver and maybe sometrack duty

    John,

    No.... I own the 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelle Registry. I have been talking with the owner of Lengendary Interiors http://www.legendaryautointeriors.com/ for about the last two years....inorder for them to even begin to think of producing the Post Sedan door panels they would need 25 orders, this is an all most impossible task. I know this because I know how many real SS396 Post Sedan Chevelle`s are presently out there.

    Legendary can make you a complete set of door panels for either a Skylark or Chevelle Post Sedan, but be prepared to pay a lot of :dollar:

    Unless someone is restoring a real SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelle, they can spend the money on such a rare Muscle Car, but a 1970-72 Buick Skylark Post Sedan owner would be foolish unless you hit the lotto.

    Best bet is to keep looking for that donor, nice interior grandma Post Sedan....there out there, you just have to find it. :)

    I just put on a wanted for post sedan interior parts. Maybe I can make my own with a set of metals and warped orignals. I have a good interior guy that should be able to make something that looks nice. I just thought if you could buy a hardtop unassembled panel you coould cut out for the vent window crank and use the post metal pieces. I was not aware if the post doors on a 69 would be different inner structure wise. Seems 69 panles would be available for the GS just add the post metals.
    Maybe the best idea is to custom make what I want

    We almost reached 60 degrees today, the car got pulled outside today. :TU:

    The RH complete lower front cowl section was removed, began mock-up for the new section.

    LH Rear Quarter panel was stripped to bare metal...... shows how the quarter was attached.... my guess, this was done sometime the late 70`s, early 80`s?

    This came from Fed-Ex this week :TU: It`s an original Delco Remy, the box was only used for shipping. Can someone decipher the numbers for me.

    Great job Dan, your project is really moving along. I especially like the way you changed the firewall while you were removing rust, going from the AC panel to non AC. Thats something I've often considered. With a Buick, it seems hard to find a nice non air body. Your work keeps it looking factory...very nice!

    Thanks for the kind words.....I had to stop the project for a bit, as I took on a new customer.

    1970 Black LS6 , Stripe Delete, Bench Seat, M40, 4:10 Chevelle.
