Got my fiberglass fenders and hood back from the body shop, he painted them a gloss black, with a flattening agent in it. I think they turned out amazing!
When we got them back from the body shop, I was amazed!:eek2: I was happy with how they were, even tho they were a little rough, but now they are perfect! I really like the hood. Thanks again David for trading them to us! :TU:
What you need is an entire fiberglass nose equipped with one of my faux grill and headlight kits...lol Cant wait till you get that bodywork bolted on the car and those badges I made slapped on there. Did you get your name decals okay?
Yes we got those, waiting for my body guy to see if he can get lexan now. I hope to have the fiberglass stuff on it this next week, but I dont know.
/sigh I am to the point that I am out of money to keep working at a fast pace on this car. It has slowed down quite a bit! :ball: Anybody have any ideas of things that I can do without spending any money? I am going to start the wiring this next week, but I don't think that will take too long, so I need something to keep me busy.
Have you put the battery box in the trunk? If so did you run the cables to starter. Who are you running the cables to the sarter? Inside the frame seems like the way to go to me. (that is my plan on my ride) I'm not sure what to use to hold the cables in place. Any advice
Dave, Yes the battery will be in the trunk, I will mount it on the passenger side, so that it will be easier to run the cables up to the starter. Inside the frame is the best place to run it, http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G1882&N=700+115&autoview=sku. Thats what I am going to use to hold down all the wires in there. If you need any other advice let me know, or if there is anything that you figure out let me know! Its tough trying to figure everything out by yourself.
Cool I have not seen those. How big a hole did you drill in the frame? I have some time to kill today before I go to Washington DC with 110 8th graders (we leave in a few hours). Yes I can tell you are jealous. I see you have removed the ac and heater. Are you getting lexan windows? If yes drop me a pm about cost and weight savings I will post in the weight lose table.
Just big enough for a self tapping screw to hold it in place. Not sure what I I am going to have to do for the lexan. I think that I am going to be able to get a windshield, but everything else will have to be cut to fit.
Ok, I am going to start wiring I guess sometime this week. I am also going to order http://store.summitracing.com/partd...t=SUM-G1624&N=700+4294922918+115&autoview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partd...t=SUM-G1620&N=700+4294922918+115&autoview=sku so that I can get started on the body panels sometime this week.
I just remembered that I have my 5 point seat belt that still needs to be mounted. That is getting done today!
Looks like I finally have enough money to buy everything I need to assemble the rear end! I hope to get that ordered this next week somtime!
The passenger side went on with a little bit of work, I had to use the BFH on the cowl to get it to fit right :Brow: . Driver side needs a little bit more work. I hope to have it on tonight tho. I also ordered the 1/4 turn fasteners for the hood to mount to the fenders. So when those get delivered I will be able to mount the hood.
It's done! I still have to get the fasteners for the hood, but I just set it up there for pictures. I put my front runners from my GSX on there, just to see how it looked.
