Russ, Your comments are very true. In many ways, just common sense. I submit that it should be no big secret that in most cases children coming from broken homes or homes with irresponsible or neglectful parents that you will almost always have a problem child. While my parents had their issues, they were loyal to each other and showed me the correct path to take and showed me through their actions, the differences between good and bad, and right and wrong. I choose to emulate them, just as a child would choose to emulate his misfit parents.

Great thread! Mygrain, I was exactly where you were 20someyears ago. I had too much fun in college and after that moved to a ski town for a year OHMYGOD! but at some point I woke up and realized none of these women were gone to raise my kids and I couldn't see growing old with any of them. I left the ski town/life and wanted to find a smart, attractive woman that liked jazz and wine. whaddya know I found her at a department store. I had given up looking and was ready to spend my skiing and mt. biking alone. 25 years later our relationship is stronger than ever and we're looking forward to the next 25.
