Adam, about 250 hotel rooms have been reserved so far. Typically, folks are slow to register for the meets, so we're just beginning to see the registrations rolling in. As of the weekend, we have processed 105 registrations, with nearly that many cars registered. We expect that we'll see much more activity over the next couple of months. Most of the folks in the nearby chapters have not yet registered.

I know I haven't registered any of my cars yet.:Dou:

Brian, hope to see you at the meeting next Tuesday, seems like forever since the last one I went to. Weather permitting, maybe I can bring my new car. :TU:

Chris, I hope you'll register all THREE for the National Meet! And, yes, it will make things much easier for the registration folks if they receive the registrations now rather than a few weeks before the meet.

I received word today that Steve Shannon, General Manager of Buick Motor Division, plans to attend.

I'll have auditors at the office next week, so it's unlikely I'll be able to make it to the meeting. Would really like to see the new car.

As I took another look at the list of registered cars this morning, it appears to me that we're getting a good sampling of 1964 - 1972 A-Body (Special/Skylark/GS) cars out for the meet, including examples from as far away as Missouri and Colorado. Looks like we'll get to see lots of cars that we've not seen previously.

    SS-Truck....

If you want to drive and have the time, there are a few of us leaving Texas and driving to Seattle. Its always a good time with the group. We drive, eat/drink, sleep, repeat until we get there. We are figuring 4 days or so from Houston. Its only 1 more day from Mobile. Come on.

I am planning to bring my 64 Riviera that I pulled out of a garage. Good archival car.

The best time I ever had at a car show was in Wash. OCA 05. Took my wife to see the whales off the coast of BC and even she enjoyed the trip. John

Chris, great to see you at the meeting last night. Looks like lots of interest in the National Meet.

By the way, I did locate the photos of the Buick you told me about, and I've got to agree that it's a spectacular car.

    Brian,

Great seeing you as well, an unexpected surprise. Yes the Nationals appear to be shaping up to be a well attended event this year. If we could only get some people from east of the Mississippi to attend!!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment on the new car, I am looking forward to getting it and seeing it in person as well!

    Thanks, Chris

My brother Grant and I will be going up from Portland on Thursday
early morning on the 26th of July. Any other Oregon buicks going up?
Maybe if it works out we can hook up with some of the California
Buicks if the timing is right and caravan on up the rest of the way
    to Bellevue.

Hi Eric, glad to hear that you're coming, and I hope it worked out for you to get rooms at the Red Lion.

Looks like both the California caravans will be arriving on Wednesday, so they will be a day ahead of you.

    Hi Brian,
I got the last room at the Hilton in the Buick-Block.
My brother got in for the same price at the Red Lion next door.
So it's a go for us!
This is going to be fun...can't wait to see all the Buick Metal...
and meet all the Buick guys from other areas!

    Brian,

Had someone ask me to be judged in the show, what day(s) would the car have to be there?

    Thanks, Chris

Chris, the cars will be judged on Saturday, July 28. Obviously, any car to be judged must be pre-registered for the meet, but it would be possible to show up with a pre-registered car on Saturday morning and have it judged that day. Judging begins at 9:30 AM, so it would be necessary to have the car parked and ready for judging with the appropriate class well in advance of that time.

There will be security for the cars during each night of the meet, so cars can arrive at the show beginning Wednesday. Many owners use car covers overnight. Arriving early ensures that you have your choice of parking spots within the area designated for your class.

Awards will be announced at the Saturday evening banquet.

Judges training is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM, and there will be a judges' breakfast from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Saturday morning. It is my understanding that the judging teams will be formed and assignments (car classes) made at that time.

Please consider signing up to serve as a judge. You will not be assigned to a class with your own car, and it's a great experience to work with others on your judging team. Someone (a spouse, friend, etc.) must be with your car, however, when the team assigned to your car's class arrives for judging. This person will be responsible to open the car's hood, trunk lid, doors, etc. as requested by the judging team. The judges will not touch your car.

A Buick National Meet is, in my view, the ultimate "kid in a candy store" experience. You will be meeting wonderful Buick enthusiasts from around the world. Come expecting to have a great time!

    Hi Brian,
It states on the registration form that the "Driven Class" will have
"Minimal Judging" and that awards are made on the Show Field.
So the "Driven Class" will not be included in the Saturday evening
    banquet...Correct?

    Eric
