It's amazing the people we meet through the Buick group. I also live in Maple Ridge, never saw their Buick or met them. I will have to call them.

    Harvey, Don's e-mail address is: ACTUALLAND@aol.com

I'm sure that he'd be happy to hear from you. You could even caravan all the way down from Maple Ridge together.

By the way, I think there is someone on these forums who owns a '61 LeSabre coupe who also lives in Maple Ridge. It would be great if you could connect with him as well and encourage him to participate in some of these events.

I'll be there at the Nationals as well. It's only 50 miles from Ft. Lewis. Pullyalup first though. Hopefully by that time I'll have my Cat wearing some new paint...

Sergeant Major, I'm glad to hear that you'll be joining us. I look forward to meeting you and seeing that fine Wildcat!

Hell even if I don't get her new makeup I'll be there with a Tri-Tone paint job...paint,primer and rust. She's a work in progress anyway, and my first.

We like to see "works in progress" -- and most of us have cars that qualify for that label to some degree. We'll enjoy it regardless of the paint condition.

Well my schedule for this week is set. I will actually fly home on Friday night, the 27th. So I may have an opportunity to make it out that day.

Steve, glad to hear it. Saturday is the big day, so be sure to make it there on Saturday A.M. to see the maximum number of cars.

For some reason, I was thinking it happened the previous weekend and was looking forward to getting together with the people who arrived early (I'm 5 miles from the Hilton and my wife works three blocks up the hill). Unfortunately that won't happen since I'll be in San Diego from the 22nd -27th.

I just read in the local Bellevue newspaper that they've completed the renovation on the Hilton (formerly a Doubletree until about 6 months ago). Those that are staying there should be in for a pretty nice stay!

I don't land at SeaTac until 11:30PM. So the chances are I won't be getting up early on Saturday morning. I'll see what I can do though.

Well I've put in for leave(vacation) for that week, so I won't have to mess with the Army at all. Told my boss what I was doing (He's got a 67 LeMans totally restored) and he signed off on the paper work and told me to just stay outta trouble. :beers2: ooookkkkkkk... So I don't have to worry about making formations, work, nada...I'm set.

we've booked at the Beutiful Westin. We hop over there periodically a couple times a year for a date weekend....great rooms, great prices and THE BEST BEDS! There is a Trader Vics right across the breeze way from the Hotel..If you have never been to a Trader Vics...try that Polenisian food and inventor of the Mai Tai!

So, no camp sites at our place that weekend, it is the wiffs birfday afterall...

Interestingly, we went to Trader Vics right after they (re)opened. We weren't impressed. We ate in the bar, since the dining room was packed. The crab cakes seemed like they were drowned in butter. The drinks were so-so. I guess we expected a lot and they didn't come through for us.

If you want some fantastic food, go down to 103 Bellevue Way. There's a little place called the Mediterrannean Kitchen. That place is fantastic! It's very small and pretty much packed around dinner time. We stopped there after 8:00PM on Sunday night after I picked up my wife at the airport. There was one table for two still available (just cleared). The portions are huge, so we shared a plate (and still brought half home).

If you venture into Seattle and want to try something funky for drinks and appetizers, go to Capital Hill on Broadway to a place called the Bleu Bistro. I highly recommend their feta nachos and they make a really good toasted cheese sandwich! It's also a cultural extravaganza up there. Afterwards you can pick up some trinkets next door at the Castle Mega Store and make your way back to those comfy beds at the Westin...

Nothing else in the downtown Bellevue area really jumps out at me unfortunately. Too often we've been disappointed with the food - we always think we could have made something cleaner and fresher at home. There are a LOT of restaurants around the Bellevue Square Mall and Lincoln Center these days though. We did eat at the Italian place in Lincoln Center and it was pretty good.

There's a cool billiards place in the Lincoln Center too. But be warned - they will not let you in if you're wearing a hat! They don't have a strict dress code, but they aren't going to let you stroll in wearing hole-filled cutoff's, a Stroh's tank top, and your John Deere cap.

Z-Tejas has good margaritas. We go with the "Z" Top Shelf Margarita: http://www.ztejas.com/fdrinks.php?section=drinks which is close to how we make them at home. There's also a Cheesecake Factory and a Red Robin if that's your thing. Close to the hotel is an Azteca Mexican restaurant. It is what it is.

SE16th? That's a ways away from me considering I live on NE15th. I'm not familiar with them.
I'm not actually a fan of 3 pigs BBQ. I was there a few months back and wasn't impressed. Dixie's is supposed to be the place but surprisingly I haven't made it there yet to meet "the man." My favorite BBQ is down by the Starbuck's corporate HQ south of Safeco Field. It's called Pecos Pit BBQ. I get the Pork HOT, with a side-spike and beans... It's funny how heaven can burn so much!

Now, if you go "Meet the Man" at Dixies, you will never forget him! OUCH!!!!!

Anyway, as for the Trader vics experience, we held a suprise party for my mom there and invited 22 of our close family friends. It was not quite as good as the old days when it was at the Seattle Westin, but everyone enjoyed the food.

As for what is to do in Bellevue, you summed it up, Steve....The Beds at the Westin is why we go:Brow:
