Funny how many rumors were being spread about this car before I even started tearing it apart. LoL.. To consider this car "purpose built" we would have to leave out all the seem sealer, undercoating in the trunk, etc.. right? Every single part going on this car is unlighted and unmodified. Here`s the seem sealer and it`s everywhere it`s suppose to be.. ---------- Post added at 12:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ---------- Funny how many rumors were being spread about this car before I even started tearing it apart. Nice!!!! I hope I get to see it at a race in Ohio.......Norwalk needs a FAST or pure stock race just like a few years back...........
Thanks guy's, Hopefully i will be racing in Ohio at the Mopar Nats. Probably wiping the floor with Mahoneys Road Runner, Cannon's Hemi Bee, and Cook's RR.
QUOTE=GTX Joel;2006840]Wow, Dave, that is looking fantastic![/QUOTE] Dave, A no show is as good as a loss . So you had better get busy. Do you think your motor will spin up to 8000 as well?:blast: I am ready.
I'll be there and i'll be shifting close to where Key's shifts. 6800ish Something tells me were gonna have some real tight racing at the Nats..
<iframe width="1280" height="720" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SeVRc1dJ1qQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Will you be shifting once as well in your car, like you did in this car???? Peter
LoL..... The first day at the PSMCDR the track was terrible, Jim tried throwing weight in the trunk and we went through every trick we could come up with to get the 67 to hook, nothing worked.. meanwhile Cannon and Hodges kept saying "take off in second gear" "take off in second gear", Jim said go ahead and try it. We did and the Hemi just didn't have the torque to pull the car it slowed down about a full half second. That happend to be the run where Donny put the camera in the car.. There's the story, no lying or bs'ing the simple truth. Kind of uneventful, really... ---------- Post added at 07:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:48 PM ---------- Really, is there a single person reading this who thinks a power glide is the right trans behind a 3800lbs pure stock Hemi? Or better yet anybody stupid enough to think Jim has one? Even my 3700lb 800hp FAST car slowed down taking off in second gear. I can see where certain guy's want this post to head.. I'm not gonna play, sorry.
for what is is worth, I really appreciate the in car vids guys allow me to get, they are the top hit getters on the you tube site......... and, if the powerglide can hold together behind a small block chevy at 11,000 rmp, I am sure no wimpy Hemi is going to hurt it :moonu:
I'll play. It's not a power glide -- okay. So it's a 3 speed automatic that can be started in 2nd gear at the driver's discretion. This is either a factory option or a permitted Pure Stock rules modification to auto transmissions. Can anyone shed some light on this? Gorgeous work on the Bee by the way!
This is something a quick drive in the car will settle, correct? If it's illegal the car should be booted plain and simple, i agree..
Must be a 727 car trans thing? I've owned several Dodge trucks, all with 727 auto, and the truck trans does not take off in 2nd when pulled down into 2nd, it downshifts into 1st when it's at,or near a dead stop. Must be a car trans thing??
