    Jody,

That would be cool if I could chop a low 1.8 60ft. That's what it would take to bust into a high 11.

    Hey Jody,

Do you know if the race gas at US41 is still incredibly expensive? Last time I was there (Oct 3 years ago I think), $10/gallon for 110

Jim, I am looking forward to seeing it try ! Chris, we bring our own 110 and have never priced it there so I do not know what to tell you about the price. I buy 110 in Streator for $5.99 a gallon.

Should be a fun Sunday !

Hmmm...you know, we've got our '10 Camaro in Chi-town getting some work done to it, and they're hoping to have the new *goodies* on and start tuning it late next week or the following week. Might be a good chance to pick the car up, make some shake down runs, *and* watch Lerum go his 11...:Brow:

Chris, you can get Rockett race gas, either 111 leaded, or 100 unleaded, at the pump at the Gas City on Laraway Rd. about a mile east of the Rt. 66 Speedway (circle track). I bought 111 leaded for about 6.10 a gallon just before the PSMCDR. Not sure if this is convenient for you.

Yes, I know. Was actually asking in case others were thinking about getting fuel at the track. :TU:

There is a Gas City near me at Weber Rd and I-55, which is where I can get 100 unleaded.

    What is she doing?

Chris have you checked rubber fuel line (can look ok from outside) filter in carb and the sock in the tank? Just asking if you done the cheap stuff?

did you take the needle/seat completely apart and clean them out??? That whole carb may need to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned...

I'd offer you a high flow setup, but it needs to go in mine this week... other option... that 800 cfm unit laying around from me? I should have the parts to fix it now...

that 800 one still needs all the same work as before to fit on the 69. plug on back of base plate. fixing secondary spring from changing plastic cam, etc, etc.

all new rubber hose (checked [and changing one piece] that last time as I thought it might be a problem). new filter in carb. sock in tank was fine last time car ran in April (yes, it's been that long).

    it won't idle, just dies

I did confirm a couple loose intake bolts and a couple loose exhaust manifold bolts. those have been fixed now

the plug should be easy, and I have a carb I can swipe a spring/screw from.

if it won't even idle now, you are definitely in worse shape than before... you gotta have something completely plugged in there somewhere.

I'd give it a teardown, clean the hell out of the carb body (dunk it), and re-assemble.

was thinking the same thing, something is plugged worse than before. also thinking to soak it. sadly, I'll lose my nice painting/plating but I'm thinking I want it to perform rather than look nice. (granted it did [or used to] look nice, before I started using the car).

the screw and spring are there, just need to set the tension correctly from when I removed the shaft (eh eh, he said shaft). and then there is the issue of the broken screw from the throttle blade in said shaft.

my plans for this evening changed, so I may get to tear it apart and soak it.

I am planning on bringing out the Munson mobile one more time before it gets put away. I just replaced the right front spindle last night because I was having some vibration issues. I hope that was the cause of it eating up bearings.
I'll take it out tonight to see. :3gears:

I cant wait to see Chris's W31 hit the track! Feel like racing the Munson mobile?
And seeing as I missed watching Jim's LS-6 run at Stanton, I wanna be sure I stop what I am doing to watch you shoot for 11s!! :TU:
I just hope the weather will make it into the 50's and no snow!!! Gonna keep a close watch on the forecast!

we called the official AMC tech hotline (1-800-AMX-Rich) last Friday and got a lot of helpful carb tuning input. :TU:

Hopefully see some positive results (now having a throttle cable bracket that allows us to get WOT should also help). The AMC is pretty much ready to roll, now we just need some good weather...
