:birthday: I for one believe it:rolleyes: We had to find another one sooner or later:TU:
Also since the black one ( undocumented) sold at BJ for stupid money I assume it will get a frameoff. Be ready to spend a truckload of cash but when your done the red color with white guts , stage 1 4 spd, "Thats a winner" to quote Jack Buck

  2. If your not confident about the car i'm willing to take a chance and give you $7500 cash! Let me know.

Just wondering was the car ever confirmed to be a real 1971 stage 1 4 speed?:Do No:

  4. The guy came in here & used us for information. He never answered my emails whatsoever.

I for one will take the owners word that the TS block vin matches the car vinand trans vin. The car has the correct speedo for a 4 spd. The TS block stampiung can be seen and looks legit. I realize its not impossible to fake a car but how manyn were faking Stage 1's 25 yeras ago. I know of a few gys back in the day that added the emblems but they would never go to the extent to stamp blocks, transmissions and rear ends much less add the 4 spd speedo which is hard to find. I tried to photograph the vin on my 72 stage 1 and it would not show up in the pics. Now that there is paint on it and the timing cover is in place it might be harder to see.
I am waiting to see if the owner is going to do a frame off and really make it a show piece. This car deserves nothing less.

  6. My question is wheres the guy??? He came in here with a car that I think is 1 out 9 and used us for information. He just disappeared from the face of the planet! I emailed him 3 times & no response.

He doesn't need to prove here, however later down the road might be a different story. By documenting it now & thru a possible resto will ONLY protect his investment!

  8. I don't think he has the funds to restore a car like that.

True enough Dan. If the guy went through the trouble to add the 20+ years of storage patina hes damn good. I tried to get the vin on my WS block to show up in pics and no luck Maybe I'll try again now that its painted

    Very Cool!

And it "stirs the blood", reminding us to watch that slightly cracked door of that old garage, shed, or barn for the next lost jewel to appear from out of the darkness.

Looking forward to following this thread.:gp:

  11. To be honest with you, I really think this guy is full of BS. He doesnt even have it! If he did he would be back here with more questions. Someone here on this forum mentioned the know the seller. I bet you this guy was only looking and dreaming . I bet you top $$$!!

I still do not have an answer about the 71 Buick and the DIRT BAG who sold me the car won't let me near it! (trying to get court order)
It sounds too Crazy to be true, but when I started asking pertient questions that you'all posted- this low life, junk man SOB hid like a little school girl!
No return phone calls, not showing up at his own garage (or dump) for almost a week now just hiding out i guess.
We went to the DA and along with my attorney will go after this low life. I must now have to face the fact that this was a set up and this guy who deals in Buicks and parts lied from Day 1.
My excitement in restoring this car got the better of me and I REALLY appreciate all the input you guys gave me!
By Friday when you google this guys name or one of his company names and (there are many) he'll never stick someone on parts or car sales again!
Company names He uses-EPZ.Active Network Inc.,ERZSEBET TOTH, ALLTYPEAUTO-also sells on ebay. I'll have more posted when "New York State Tax Dept/IRS" get back to my attorney to see who actually owns these shell companies. He has a brother who distanced himself very quickly already from this guy!
Again, thank you all and if anyone has a GSX or Stage 1conv. for sale please contact me.
    Regards,
    Pete

Sounds like the seller changed his mind after reading the posts on here or was trying to scam the buyer completely by taking the money and running.
You can also contact the interenet fraud division of the local police if it was advertized on the net. Good luck on getting the $$ back

My guess is some butt head just got caught re-stamping?

If cash was exchanged, the seller looks to be in trouble. Getting the DA involved is a good thing. I'd go after the guy just like Pete and not let up for a second..
