I am. Just over 30 days in. Don’t mean to make it sound so bad. With the “Just over 30 days in” comment. It’s not. Stuff that I missed and/or confused, couldn’t comprehend, didn’t sink in, etc, is this time making up for it now. It’s really enlightening learning even more about my disease. I’m in a good place, but with some, or should say the majority of my peers, it really makes it trying. Most are basically 30-40 year old immature adults. Besides being interruptive with my own recovery, I’m still learning how this horrible disease can affect people differently. My addiction started late in my life. For very many like here, there’s started in there early teens. What happened to them, is their brains stopped developing from using at such an early age. So many literally act like a 13-14 or whatever year-old. It’s very sad, really. I get it though. But wow, can they be annoying! Guess I’m fortunate in that way. But again, thanks everyone. I’m doing well.
This past September, I celebrated 24yrs..........one day at a time!! My favorite sayings..... Nothing changes, if nothing changes! Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a Gift.....that's why it's called the PRESENT! SLIP, stands for Sobriety Lost It's Priority. PM me ANYTIME for Anything program related. Freely give what ye have been freely given. Can't keep it if you don't give it away.
Guy, stay away from the war storys, some of the people who have drug issues will romance it at times. It's good to talk and let it out but theres a limit. Don't exchange numbers but agree to meet at some AA meetings.
I am definitely no angel ,but just prayed for you Guy. Thank you for getting up,dusting yourself off & sharing the knowledge of this disease my friend. Sincerely, Fritz
you're in the right place at the right time Guy, learn it, live it, share it. and most of all YOU can do it! prayers and Good Vibes coming to you.
Thanks Peter. For sure ups and downs here. But all in all, pretty good. Some left, got kicked out for using, etc. But for myself, being positive. Thank you everyone for the support and understanding
KISS, keep it simple stupid. If you don't drink you won't get drunk. What really helped me early on was the fact that I just have to not drink today.
