I'd like to take credit for it but I took it somewhere to have it done.

Clearcoat is Dupont select clear and paint is BASF Diamont.

Yep, Mickey drag radials...really like them

Pretty much done except new weatherstripping, trunk splatter and final buff. All in for about 5800.00. Pretty happy with it. IMG_1799.jpg

Where do you go with the car ever go to Oyster Bay on Tuesdays

Never did Oyster Bay but did Bellmore last year. This year has been a no go with shows and during the week is tough as I get out of work late but have done Deer Park and DMV at Happauge on the weekends.

Thanks Brian. Was looking for the best bang for the buck and felt your recommendation best fit the bill from a cost/ benefit standpoint. Went with a color that was more similar to the original (Colonial Yellow) than what was on it and I think the contrast with the black looks decent. There definitely are some other GS colors that look great (Sherwood, Gulfstream, Aquamist, Diplomat, Black, Harvest Gold etc) but changing to those would have been pretty dramatic.

How did you do the trunk decal? When I repainted a 73 I had to make a stencil by hand......

I was just going to get a decal and make a stencil in reverse but the guy who painted it found a stencil online and taped off the rest as well as the pin striping to match the original layout. Then he clear coated over it. I really preferred it was all painted rather than decals...looks better and holds up better.
