I just got off the phone with the race controller. More fun stuff!!

For pre-registered people--$65 for the weekend before Sept. 1-- they will allow for them to set up their stuff on Friday at the track--only pre-registered will get to do this. You will also receive an event T-shirt if you are pre-registered.

As for camping on the grounds.. not a problem. The only issue is that they have no camper hookups.

As for track prep, they are bringing in a group of 4 guys on top of the regular crew at KCIR. The head honcho of this crew is insane about track prep and will take it personally if anyone has an issue with how the track bites. Scraping, spraying, and laying down gold dust.. whatever it takes, it will be done. This guy has worked several national events with the NHRA and will make it sticky!

More fun cars listed to show up:
    Grumpies '68 Stocker
2 of Wally Booths Pro Stock cars
    '68 Dick Harrell Funny car
    Nova-caine
    And more to follow.

Contact me and I will get you with the guys putting the event on so that you can pre-register.

One other thing, yes it is a Saturday-Sunday event, but Monday is Columbus day!!:Brow:

Dave, everyone can expect to run 2 out of 3 match races, we want the racing to be close and lots of fun (read - no blowouts). As usual FAST cars will be out numbered by the pure stockers. I will bring the mean green machine, if no other, or very few FAST cars show up, then we'll just make some exhibition passes or something.

Rusty and I, will also work on some "trailer friendly" places to stay, as well as some small prizes for best reaction time, best burnout, trailer with the biggest sofa.......:bla: , and best ET without pants..........:moonu:

At any rate, this should be fun, especially with the night time qualifying rounds.

Okay, I have attached the preregistration sheet for the event. Please indicate that you are racing in the F.A.S.T./ FS class. For anyone bringing pitcrew or family along, a $35 pit pass for the weekend can be purchased at the time of preregistration. $65 for the car and driver. Please contact me if you have any questions. Steve and I are going to the track on Friday during the Super Chevy Show to drum up some locals!

Does anyone have a list of hotels that are close to the track?

Anybody know how to print that preregistration sheet? Mine wouldn't print. Got the picture OK, but the entry form section is illegible. ???????? Does this form have to be used, or can I just type in the info on a sheet and send?

Also, I assume we're supposed to check the Pro box for FAST/FS? It's the $65 one.

    Thanks.

They had the fliers printed up before we were a part of the show. Please write in that you are F.A.S.T./FS. $65 is the correct registration price.

We need a good roll call of people who are going to show. I will start the roll call about a week before so that Steve and I can stake off an area just for us.

They have a list of hotels on their website, but Steve and I are going out on Friday and we will scout out some hotels that have good trailer parking. If you want us to set up a hotel with just us, let us know.

Camping is allowed, but it they have no camper hookups and no showers.

If you cannot get the flier to print off for you, a piece of paper will work fine as well. I have not tried to get it to print off yet.

And once again, pro tree and 2 of 3 shootouts.:3gears:

Steve had to come over to my side of town last night and we decided on a hotel that could accomidate us (and our trailers). It is the:

    Holiday Inn Express
    816-795-6400
    4825 NE Lakewood Way
    Lees Summit MO 64064-2486

This hotel is on a frontage road just off of I-470. Less than 10 minutes away from the track. The restaurant that was next to it is now for sale (out of business) so they have a parking area that could be all our own. The rate they told me is $89/ night for October 5 & 6. If you have AAA or AARP, they told me $79/ night. The only downfall is the distance to restaurants from the hotel. There is only one hotel in Lees Summit that has restuarants within walking distance!!! I did not block any rooms, so this is the everyday rate. I would highly recommend that if you are planning on coming, get the reservation in. The Chiefs are having a home game that weekend and that could take up some hotel rooms in a hurry.

I have some real understaning neighbors, but I don't think I can pass off 15 trailers lining the streets of my neighborhood and a tent city in my backyard!!!:error:

Do you have to preregister? I may have located a pair of tires that match what I have here to run on. I will have to get the wife warmed up to run again....

Pre registration is not necessary, but if you are planning on doing it, I will need to know so that you can pit with us. We are going to lay claim to a pit area so that as many of us as we can (which should easily be all of us) can be together. RB-- I am going to PM you my number and Steve's number. We are excited to have some fresh meat show up! :Brow: See if you can't snag some more of the midwest Buick Mafia into this shindig!:bglasses:

So it appears that I could run both GS's by the look of the flyer is that right? I know the rules on the fast race but my GS could run pro or super pro. Where are the times at for those classes listed?

This gives you the breakdown (I think) and winnings associated with those classes. If you need some more info, let me know, I will see if we can find some for you!:TU:

Headed out this afternoon with the organizers to get an idea of layout that they want to go with and also meet with the track officials. Super Chevy here at KCIR this weekend.:Do No:

I just talked to the track and they said for the preregested, it is best to get there before 4 pm on Friday. There is a Friday night test and tune there and if you get there after 4 pm, you have to pay for the entry of the t+t, so he said get there about noon so we can find a place to park before it becomes packed. If you are still going to come to the event, but you have not sent in your preregistration, go ahead and do it. The organizers would like to see some more numbers of commitments. JUST DO IT!! If you have any questions, please give me a jingle!
