I did shoot you an email,Bill. It seems like everybody, everywhere I go is stressed right now. You can see site traffic here is down to a trickle. Many have defected to another site, and spend their time there. Personally, I feel like you have contributed a lot here in more ways then one. I was sent to purgatory here w/o a warning for hammering a crappy vendor that screwed me (and many other V8Buick members) over big time. That vendor wasn't even a paying, advertising member here. So, I kind of feel your pain. Like everybody else, I'm stressed right now, too. I'm only spending a short amount of time on here. Hell, even our mods aren't spending a lot of time on here right now. So I know it's not just me.
I have noticed in the last week or so on the TV news that after they talk about a lot of bad stuff, they start with the cute puppy stories. Maybe a picture of your "Boston Baby" might help? Nobody can resist a cute puppy right now!

Thanks Frank! Maybe it is just "the times". Yesterday, I took Pat for a THREE HOUR visit 50 miles away to see a Pulmonary Specialist. Just a week ago, her GP put her on oxygen due to her Chronic COPD and emphysema. Her lung cap. is down to between 15 and 40%. Kinda bleak on the outlook. Being a shallow breather her whole life, the disease has pretty much totalled out both upper lung quadrants. The new doc's thoughts are for REHAB, not ox. therapy on the tank, which means at 65 she need to relearn how to breath with whats left. She quit smoking cold turkey (3X per day!) about 9 years ago. I wished I could! Ive been through several breeds of monkeys on my own back but cant put down the nails. Now with a house flooded with Ox, all the burning has to be done outside. Yeah. life sucks for everybody. Its all different levels off vacuum right? At least my consumption is wayyy down. Ill accept that as a tie with the competition for right now. I was at 3X right next to her, and dropped to way less than a pack a day. Primarily shop smoking only for the winter. Things in life we deal with before the grim reaper comes-a-knockin'.

So last summer we lost 2 dogs. Chewbacca (Harry the Hound) was put down due to old age. Stepping in dog **** every morning or even in his crate was no joy. Bullit (yeah. like Frank) the Wonder dog went in my arms after a last sad look at me as if to say "I'm sorry dad" from sudden onset asymptomatic canine leukemia. Pat, I, and our last Boston, BONER were devastated. BONER quit eating and was wasting rapidly. We got him another Boston puppy for a pal and he couldnt/hasnt quite yet adjusted. Now he has developed some kind of liver problems and wont eat unless hand fed. He's just about 10 now and hope he pulls through. God damn dogs!

The last pic here is BULLIT on the way home for the first day. I still cant even look at the end from 6-10-2020

The new kid is a purebred (3X champion bloodline AKC) Boston that Pat got from Bath Springs Tenn. All registered up and ready to stud for some $$$. His official name is WILLY'S LITTLE SPIKE and he's a true Boston Terrorist. I had a damn dream last night that I had to take him to moms wake. Thats what I woke up to this morning.

Guys that have a weak starter or flooding carb have my attention but There aint no cryin' in baseball right? 2020 has given us a harsh lesson in reality with all the BS; real or not, its changed many, many things. Im laying low here myself (Dont feel like the winner Jim!) because its several other forums too. At 65, we've taken our last pimp slap and I promise(d) to hold back and keep it "light" so it all jives with the tone of the forum. I certainly hope 2021 is a better year. I know my 65th sucked and it aint looking terribly better. Happy Holidays coming up everyone... Heathens, Christians, Jews. Moozlems... it dont matter no more, but that damn chinaman thing still eats at my guts causing MAX DAMAGE... ws

I'm sorry to hear about Pat's medical issues, hopefully the new therapy will help. I was never a big ciggie smoker, but it is a hard habit to stop. I stopped about a year ago, and I only smoked maybe 5 cigs a day or something like that. I do remember you mentioning the issues with your dogs, and the acquisition of the new guy. The dog pics are cool! Cute little guys, you can probably rent them out in 15 minute blocks starting tomorrow morning. People are going to need them and you're going to have to share. lol

Right, the "new normal", nothing will ever be the same. Sports? I could care less about now, and before I would look forward to Sunday game time. World Series? I could care less and I did not watch one minute of it. People's priorities have changed. What do I miss the most? My car guy friends, cruising, shows, swap meets, eating out, and vacations. Most all those things would be rolled in together. Like a trip to Chicago MCACN, or Cecil, or Ohio, or BG, or just a local cruise BBQ.

I'd agree it's been a bad year for everybody. Regardless of what happens today, I hope for a greater unity in the future. I'm hoping for a good Holiday season for all, too. I may have to change my avatar to "Christmas Cher" early this year!

    Bill:

Give Pat my good wishes. I know you'll take good care of her. I don't like this "new normal" either, but have accepted it. I mainly keep close to home. I sure miss a meal in a good Italian restaurant and watching my favorite bands in concert. In fact I'm holding tickets to postponed Graham Nash and Santana concerts. Take care of yourself too.

Where do you guys live where you can't eat in restaurants now? We have been able to eat in restaurants (limited to 50% capacity - social distancing) for months down here in Alabama.

Currently, I prefer to eat in a restaurant with an outside seating area - not available around where I live, plus too cold if it was. I'll have to wait until I get to Fla for the winter.

I have to say this. Yauchtsmanbill and I are cut from the same side of stone. We really don't give a CARE what the world and All Y'All think. We will ALWAYS be who we are. We are good people. We don't like sugar coating Anything. I will not apologize for my true feelings. In my life. Not one person ever in my life would call me a kiss a??. There is so much worth in being straight and honest. Cheers to Everyone in life that doesn't sign up to be approved. Love your life. Make Your Life what you want it to be. F the fringe

Oh and guess what? We love our woman. Woman. Not women. We love life. We are grateful. We also love and give thanks to our pets.

Thanks guys, and you Pat, thanks for your' insight. Same stone? Hell yeah! For years I was granite, but over the past million or so millenia Ive become more of a bit of sandstone LOL. Maybe just a filler aggregate in some concrete? With everything thats going on in out little 600 sq, foot world here, I hafta try to hold together the emotional side as well as the logistical side. A lot of women think with their emotions; and thats OK at the right time. Sometimes you still need to be that rock.

So today it was up at 0410hrs, and now it 0500. I need to get stuff together so The step kid and I can get the boat shrink wrapped today. Its all framed out (spider webbed) with 1/2 poly-rope, so once the sheet is rolled out, we have to step lively AND be done by 1330 so Pat can hand of Scotts 2 YO girl (Gracelynn) and she can get on this weekly webinar meeting about all their Lynch Syndrome mutated gene stuff.
Myself? I am honoring my dads memory. My boat was his. Its a 36 foot 1963 Chris Craft Roamer in aluminum. Pop bought it in 1972 and was killed 40 years ago today when a tugboat he was the engineer on sank and took him down with it. Never recovered. He was 58 and a BUICK POWERHOUSE! I cant even fathom him as a shriveled up little old man at 98 with a walker.

Have a great day and Illegitimi non carborundum! ws
