    Hey Donny,
How much would you pay for a 1959 vette with less than 30 mi. on it?? Original miles... It went from the dealership straight to storage...

I've had my 72 vert for 25 years and in that time have never owned a shiny jacket or a gold chain and even pulled the sacred #s drivetrain in order to go race the crap out of it. I also pride myself on being quite anti-lemming...:TU:

Another ex-Sting Ray owner here (66 Roadster- 327/300). Took me 12 years to finally determine I didn't fit in around all the inflated egos. Very few Vette owners back then even turned a wrench! There are exceptions to every rule. Made a change in 1986 and have to say that Buicks suit my style and personality much better! Buick owners will actually help each other too! :spank:

OK everyone- apologies are in order- we have proof of one owner/mechanic...In another few years he'll have his car completely ready ( to push to the dealer with a blank check and say "fix it" )

I love the "INOP" on the speedo. It wasn't enough just to notice that the needle didn't move?

    Donny:

Please tell me that's not your car.......

Dave- you have to match the "INOP" on the speedo with the Dymo labeled tachometer with the MPH according to RPM cross reference. :eek2: I wonder if those are all calibrated to 4th gear? That there's some good thinkin'. Git-r-Done! :pp The Channel-Loc on the steering shaft is just icing on the cake.

Kinda figured that, Frank. I've driven the Ramrod since it was 1 month old with the speedo blocked by the tach (still is), and just multiplied the tach in a 2:1 ratio (plus or minus a few decimal points). Almost deadly accurate in 4th gear with the G70x14 tires and the original 3.91 gears (3000 RPM= 60 MPH). 2nd gear was about 1/2 that (3000 RPM = 30MPH), or close enough.

I didn't get a new dymo labeller for Christmas, so didn't put the labelling instructions on it. The steering wheel is probably hanging on the wall with a label on it that say, not required anymore, replaced by vice grips.

On a much brighter side......here's another reason Vettes are cool:

    Thanks for that one, Frank.

    Dave,
Mabe I'll have to get a bass boat, nothin' else is working. The speedo is probably wrong anyhow.

New, dedicated, practice facility. It takes practice working the clutch, and stabbing the gas in those ACME Dingo zip ups. No one said wearing the proper Vette uniform would make driving the car faster. Practice makes perfect.:TU:

I think we're being way too hard on the Vette guys. Let's face it, most of them were born that way. :Brow:

If you want to pick on people with a herd mentality, try those who are into Jeeps. Or Harleys. Talk about cults!

There! Is there anyone we haven't offended yet?

    I own a JEEP (204,000 mile 2000 Cherokee Sport) ! I guess I'm just a "brand renegade" like Donald.

I see these Jeeps with the "It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand" tire covers, and you know what? I DON'T understand this Jeep ~thing~ and I own one!:Do No: :Do No: :Do No:
