Did some work on the interior and sprayed the carpet on the kick-panels and lower edges of the door panels......Then and Now Restoration did a fantastic job of dyeing them just enough to cover......Thanks Mark !.....have your interior guys take a look at my install of their work :beer

Installed the paper moisture barrier on the doors......

    Topcat Got TORQUE?

As i wait for McWheels to return my NOS 15x6 Motor Wheel Spyder(Kurt, you listening?)to me so i can get this car on the ground and the motor in it...........
TOPCAT was in need of a valve lash check after 17years with-out cracking a valve cover...kudo's to Ezra Beachy of Beachy Performance of Kokomo,Ind for building this nailhead......it ROCKS !!!

I found one intake on the driver's side with .024" lash and all the others were .009" ...........same on the passenger side except the front cylinder intake and exhaust which were both at .018" and the rest at .009".......i adjusted the rods that were out of the .009" widow so now all are the same......

The rockers i hand selected parts and hand built are still in perfect condition.......ready to rock on :pp :pp :pp
    [IMG]

    NAILHEAD POWER ROCKS !!!

Hi, Great build that you have done. I have a question with regards to my 1970 electra that I am working on right now. It appears that both rear body/trunk mounts have rusted away and a fellow forum member was able to provide me some pictures on what the mounts looked like and I noticed that you had taken some pictures to that certainly has helped me. I noticed that no one reproduces these mounts anymore, But I noticed that on the smaller buicks and full size chevy's the rear mount with some modification/frabrication may fit my purpose here. Was the mount in the picture that you provided, welded to the under side of the trunk floor ? I am familar with the general mounting, but unsure if the mount was welded to the underside of the trunk floor.
    Thanks

Yes, that is spot welded to the bottom trunk floor.....you can just weld in stronger metal in a plate to the trunk floor......is yours is really bad ?....no one will notice.......tough job to exactly reproduce them channels......

Meanwhile back at the 'Cats Lair........

Mounted the BFG 225/70/15's on the front 15x6 Spyder's and got the car on the ground for the first time in 7 months

Also started restoring the engine compartment engine wiring harness.....had to extend the ignition (+) wire to the front of the engine and added a tach signal wire as the my original harness had major issues from dry-rotted wire insulation that i'm sure a lot of california cars developed because of the heat and low humidity.......

Doubt i will have this car done for the WILDCAT NATIONALS at the BPG event.......TOPCAT will have to make the show instead.......

Thanks for the reply, by the way, great pictures that you added!! For my electra the mounts have rusted away and I will have to fab something up in place, I guess plug welding a plate to the bottom of the trunk floor will be the way to go. Here are some pics.

Good luck with your fix. Your mounts are classic examples of one of the worst rust issue areas on those years of big Buick.....90% of all the Wildcats i owned had those mounts rusted away and looked just like yours.

Bill, as always, it was great to see you and Davis. Sorry Dad And I didn't make it to dinner Saturday night. I was really hoping to get the bugs worked out of carb. I still have some things to work out on it but its closer than before. I may be making a trip to Muncie in the fall, I will let you know for sure if I do. You may get a visitor for a day
